The Mountain of the Lord^(A)

2 This is what Isaiah son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem:^(B)

³ Then the Lord said to Isaiah, “Go out, you and your son Shear-Jashub,^[a](A) to meet Ahaz at the end of the aqueduct of the Upper Pool, on the road to the Launderer’s Field.^(B)

² at that time the Lord spoke through Isaiah son of Amoz.^(A) He said to him, “Take off the sackcloth^(B) from your body and the sandals^(C) from your feet.” And he did so, going around stripped^(D) and barefoot.^(E)

² He sent Eliakim^(A) the palace administrator, Shebna^(B) the secretary, and the leading priests, all wearing sackcloth, to the prophet Isaiah son of Amoz.^(C)

⁵ When King Hezekiah’s officials came to Isaiah, ⁶ Isaiah said to them, “Tell your master, ‘This is what the Lord says: Do not be afraid^(A) of what you have heard—those words with which the underlings of the king of Assyria have blasphemed^(B) me.

Hezekiah’s Illness^(A)

38 In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz^(B) went to him and said, “This is what the Lord says: Put your house in order,^(C) because you are going to die; you will not recover.”^(D)
