16 (A)For those who guide this people are leading them astray;
And those who are guided by them are [a]confused.
17 Therefore the Lord does (B)not rejoice over their young men,
(C)Nor does He have compassion on their [b]orphans or their widows;
For every one of them is (D)godless and an (E)evildoer,
And every (F)mouth is speaking foolishness.
(G)In spite of all this, His anger does not turn away,
And His hand is still stretched out.

Is it too trivial a thing for you to [e]try the patience of men, that you will [f](F)try the patience of (G)my God as well? 14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, (H)the [g]virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and she will name Him [h](I)Immanuel.
