8 Fugiţi(A) din Babilon, ieşiţi din ţara haldeenilor, şi mergeţi ca nişte ţapi în fruntea turmei! 9 Căci iată(B) că voi ridica şi voi aduce împotriva Babilonului o mulţime de neamuri mari din ţara de la miazănoapte; se vor înşirui(C) în şiruri de bătaie împotriva lui şi vor pune stăpânire pe el; săgeţile lui sunt ca ale unui războinic iscusit, care nu se întoarce cu mâinile(D) goale. 10 Astfel va fi dată pradă jafului Haldeea, şi toţi(E) cei ce o vor jefui se vor sătura de jaf, zice Domnul.

8 “Flee(A) out of Babylon;(B)
leave the land of the Babylonians,
and be like the goats that lead the flock.
9 For I will stir(C) up and bring against Babylon
an alliance of great nations(D) from the land of the north.(E)
They will take up their positions against her,
and from the north she will be captured.(F)
Their arrows(G) will be like skilled warriors
who do not return empty-handed.
10 So Babylonia[a] will be plundered;(H)
all who plunder her will have their fill,”
declares the Lord.
