Bài ca tụng Thượng Đế
25 Lạy CHÚA, Ngài là Thượng Đế tôi.
Tôi tôn trọng và ca tụng Ngài,
vì Ngài đã làm những việc diệu kỳ.
Ngài luôn luôn làm điều Ngài phán;
và thực hiện điều Ngài hoạch định từ xưa.
2 Ngài đã biến thành phố ra đống đá vụn và tiêu hủy nó.
Đền đài của kẻ thù nay không còn nữa;
nó sẽ không được ai xây lại.
3 Dân cư từ các nước hùng cường sẽ tôn kính Ngài;
thành phố của các dân hung bạo sẽ sợ hãi Ngài.
4 Ngài che chở kẻ nghèo;
Ngài bênh vực kẻ cô thế khi họ gặp nguy khốn.
Ngài như nơi trú ẩn lúc giông bão,
như mái che họ khỏi nắng nóng.
Kẻ ác tấn công như mưa bão đập vào tường,
5 như sức nóng trong sa mạc.
Nhưng Thượng Đế ơi,
Ngài ngăn chận cuộc tấn công hung bạo của chúng nó.
Như mây làm mát ngày nóng nực thế nào,
Ngài cũng làm tắt tiếng ca
của những kẻ không có lòng từ bi như thế.
Bàn tiệc cho các đầy tớ Ngài
6 CHÚA Toàn Năng sẽ dọn một bữa tiệc trên núi nầy cho các dân. Một bữa tiệc đầy cao lương mỹ vị, cùng với thịt ngon và rượu hảo hạng.
7 Trên núi nầy Thượng Đế sẽ ném bỏ tấm màn che mọi dân, tấm màn phủ trên mọi dân tộc; 8 Ngài sẽ tiêu diệt sự chết cho đến đời đời [a]. CHÚA là Thượng Đế sẽ lau khô nước mắt trên mọi gương mặt. Ngài sẽ cất sự sỉ nhục khỏi dân Ngài trên đất. CHÚA đã phán.
9 Lúc đó mọi người sẽ bảo,
“Thượng Đế chúng tôi làm điều nầy!
Chúng ta đã trông đợi Ngài,
và Ngài đã đến giải cứu chúng ta.
Đây là CHÚA.
Chúng ta đã trông đợi Ngài,
chúng ta sẽ vui mừng hớn hở khi Ngài cứu chúng ta.”
10 CHÚA sẽ bảo vệ núi nầy,
nhưng Ngài sẽ giày đạp Mô-áp [b], kẻ thù chúng ta
như rơm rạ bị giày xéo trong đống phân.
11 Chúng sẽ dang tay ra trong đó như người đang bơi.
Nhưng Thượng Đế sẽ hạ lòng kiêu căng của chúng xuống,
và những gì khôn khéo chúng làm sẽ không còn ra gì.
12 Thượng Đế sẽ phá sập các vách vững chắc của Mô-áp.
Ngài sẽ ném chúng xuống đến bụi đất.

Praise to God
25 O Lord, You are my God.
(A)I will exalt You,
I will praise Your name,
(B)For You have done wonderful things;
(C)Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.
2 For You have made (D)a city a ruin,
A fortified city a ruin,
A palace of foreigners to be a city no more;
It will never be rebuilt.
3 Therefore the strong people will (E)glorify You;
The city of the [a]terrible nations will fear You.
4 For You have been a strength to the poor,
A strength to the needy in his distress,
(F)A refuge from the storm,
A shade from the heat;
For the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall.
5 You will reduce the noise of aliens,
As heat in a dry place;
As heat in the shadow of a cloud,
The song of the terrible ones will be [b]diminished.
6 And in (G)this mountain
(H)The Lord of hosts will make for (I)all people
A feast of [c]choice pieces,
A feast of [d]wines on the lees,
Of fat things full of marrow,
Of well-refined wines on the lees.
7 And He will destroy on this mountain
The surface of the covering cast over all people,
And (J)the veil that is spread over all nations.
8 He will (K)swallow up death forever,
And the Lord God will (L)wipe away tears from all faces;
The rebuke of His people
He will take away from all the earth;
For the Lord has spoken.
9 And it will be said in that day:
“Behold, this is our God;
(M)We have waited for Him, and He will save us.
This is the Lord;
We have waited for Him;
(N)We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation.”
10 For on this mountain the hand of the Lord will rest,
And (O)Moab shall be trampled down under Him,
As straw is trampled down for the refuse heap.
11 And He will spread out His hands in their midst
As a swimmer reaches out to swim,
And He will bring down their (P)pride
Together with the trickery of their hands.
12 The (Q)fortress of the high fort of your walls
He will bring down, lay low,
And bring to the ground, down to the dust.

God Will Swallow Up Death Forever
25 O Lord, (A)you are my God;
(B)I will exalt you; I will praise your name,
for you have done wonderful things,
(C)plans formed of old, faithful and sure.
2 For you have made the city (D)a heap,
the fortified city a ruin;
the foreigners' palace is a city no more;
it will never be rebuilt.
3 (E)Therefore strong peoples will glorify you;
cities of ruthless nations will fear you.
4 (F)For you have been a stronghold to the poor,
a stronghold to the needy in his distress,
(G)a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat;
(H)for the breath of the ruthless is like a storm against a wall,
5 (I)like heat in a dry place.
You subdue the noise of the foreigners;
as heat by the shade of a cloud,
so the song of the ruthless is put down.
6 (J)On this mountain the Lord of hosts will make for all peoples
a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wine,
(K)of rich food full of marrow, of aged wine well refined.
7 And he will swallow up (L)on this mountain
the covering that is cast over all peoples,
(M)the veil that is spread over all nations.
8 (N)He will swallow up death forever;
and (O)the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces,
and (P)the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth,
(Q)for the Lord has spoken.
9 It will be said on that day,
“Behold, this is our God; (R)we have waited for him, that he might save us.
This is the Lord; we have waited for him;
(S)let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.”
10 For the hand of the Lord will rest (T)on this mountain,
and (U)Moab shall be trampled down in his place,
as straw is trampled down in a dunghill.[a]
11 (V)And he will spread out his hands in the midst of it
as a swimmer spreads his hands out to swim,
but the Lord (W)will lay low his pompous pride together with the skill[b] of his hands.
12 And the high fortifications of his walls he will bring down,
lay low, and cast to the ground, to the dust.
