Then they will say, ‘Because (A)they abandoned the Lord their God who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt and laid hold on other gods and worshiped them and served them. Therefore the Lord has brought all this disaster on them.’”

Solomon's Other Acts

10 (B)At the end of (C)twenty years, in which Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the Lord and the king's house, 11 and Hiram king of Tyre had supplied Solomon with cedar and cypress timber and gold, as much as he desired, King Solomon gave to Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee. 12 But when Hiram came from Tyre to see the cities that Solomon had given him, they did not please him. 13 Therefore he said, “What kind of cities are these that you have given me, my brother?” So they are called the land of (D)Cabul to this day. 14 Hiram had sent to the king 120 talents[a] of gold.

The Transfiguration

(A)And after six days Jesus took with him (B)Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. And he was (C)transfigured before them, and (D)his clothes became radiant, intensely white, as no one[a] on earth could bleach them. And there appeared to them Elijah with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus. And Peter said to Jesus, (E)“Rabbi,[b] it is good that we are here. Let us make three (F)tents, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah.” For (G)he did not know what to say, for they were terrified. And (H)a cloud overshadowed them, and (I)a voice came out of the cloud, (J)“This is my beloved Son;[c] (K)listen to him.” And suddenly, looking around, they no longer saw anyone with them but Jesus only.

(L)And as they were coming down the mountain, (M)he charged them to tell no one what they had seen, (N)until the Son of Man had risen from the dead.
