9 Then they will say, ‘Because (A)they abandoned the Lord their God who brought their fathers out of the land of Egypt and laid hold on other gods and worshiped them and served them. Therefore the Lord has brought all this disaster on them.’”

10 (B)At the end of (C)twenty years, in which Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the Lord and the king's house, 11 and Hiram king of Tyre had supplied Solomon with cedar and cypress timber and gold, as much as he desired, King Solomon gave to Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee. 12 But when Hiram came from Tyre to see the cities that Solomon had given him, they did not please him. 13 Therefore he said, “What kind of cities are these that you have given me, my brother?” So they are called the land of (D)Cabul to this day. 14 Hiram had sent to the king 120 talents[a] of gold.
15 And this is the account of (E)the forced labor that King Solomon drafted to build the house of the Lord and his own house and (F)the Millo and the wall of Jerusalem and (G)Hazor and (H)Megiddo and Gezer 16 (Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up and captured Gezer and burned it with fire, and had killed (I)the Canaanites who lived in the city, and had given it as dowry to (J)his daughter, Solomon's wife; 17 so Solomon rebuilt Gezer) and (K)Lower Beth-horon 18 and Baalath and Tamar in the wilderness, in the land of Judah,[b]

10 At the end of twenty years, during which Solomon built these two buildings—the temple of the Lord and the royal palace— 11 King Solomon gave twenty towns in Galilee to Hiram king of Tyre, because Hiram had supplied him with all the cedar and juniper and gold(E) he wanted. 12 But when Hiram went from Tyre to see the towns that Solomon had given him, he was not pleased with them. 13 “What kind of towns are these you have given me, my brother?” he asked. And he called them the Land of Kabul,[a](F) a name they have to this day. 14 Now Hiram had sent to the king 120 talents[b] of gold.(G)
15 Here is the account of the forced labor King Solomon conscripted(H) to build the Lord’s temple, his own palace, the terraces,[c](I) the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor,(J) Megiddo and Gezer.(K) 16 (Pharaoh king of Egypt had attacked and captured Gezer. He had set it on fire. He killed its Canaanite inhabitants and then gave it as a wedding gift to his daughter,(L) Solomon’s wife. 17 And Solomon rebuilt Gezer.) He built up Lower Beth Horon,(M) 18 Baalath,(N) and Tadmor[d] in the desert, within his land,

2 (A)And after six days Jesus took with him (B)Peter and James and John, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. And he was (C)transfigured before them, 3 and (D)his clothes became radiant, intensely white, as no one[a] on earth could bleach them. 4 And there appeared to them Elijah with Moses, and they were talking with Jesus. 5 And Peter said to Jesus, (E)“Rabbi,[b] it is good that we are here. Let us make three (F)tents, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah.” 6 For (G)he did not know what to say, for they were terrified. 7 And (H)a cloud overshadowed them, and (I)a voice came out of the cloud, (J)“This is my beloved Son;[c] (K)listen to him.” 8 And suddenly, looking around, they no longer saw anyone with them but Jesus only.
9 (L)And as they were coming down the mountain, (M)he charged them to tell no one what they had seen, (N)until the Son of Man had risen from the dead.

2 After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John(C) with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them. 3 His clothes became dazzling white,(D) whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them. 4 And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus.
5 Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi,(E) it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters—one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” 6 (He did not know what to say, they were so frightened.)
7 Then a cloud appeared and covered them, and a voice came from the cloud:(F) “This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him!”(G)
8 Suddenly, when they looked around, they no longer saw anyone with them except Jesus.
9 As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus gave them orders not to tell anyone(H) what they had seen until the Son of Man(I) had risen from the dead.
