23 But each in his own order: Christ (A)the first fruits, after that (B)those who are Christ’s at (C)His coming, 24 then comes the end, when He hands over (D)the kingdom to the (E)God and Father, when He has abolished (F)all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign (G)until He has put all His enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy that will be (H)abolished is death. 27 For (I)He has put all things in subjection under His feet. But when He says, “(J)All things are put in subjection,” it is evident that He is excepted who put all things in subjection to Him. 28 When (K)all things are subjected to Him, then the Son Himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to Him, so that (L)God may be all in all.

29 Otherwise, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why then are they baptized for them? 30 Why are we also (M)in danger every hour? 31 I affirm, brethren, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, (N)I die daily. 32 If [a]from human motives I (O)fought with wild beasts at (P)Ephesus, what does it profit me? If the dead are not raised, (Q)let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die. 33 (R)Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.” 34 (S)Become sober-minded [b]as you ought, and stop sinning; for some have (T)no knowledge of God. (U)I speak this to your shame.

23 But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits;(A) then, when he comes,(B) those who belong to him.(C) 24 Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom(D) to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.(E) 25 For he must reign(F) until he has put all his enemies under his feet.(G) 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death.(H) 27 For he “has put everything under his feet.”[a](I) Now when it says that “everything” has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ.(J) 28 When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him,(K) so that God may be all in all.(L)

29 Now if there is no resurrection, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why are people baptized for them? 30 And as for us, why do we endanger ourselves every hour?(M) 31 I face death every day(N)—yes, just as surely as I boast about you in Christ Jesus our Lord. 32 If I fought wild beasts(O) in Ephesus(P) with no more than human hopes, what have I gained? If the dead are not raised,

“Let us eat and drink,
    for tomorrow we die.”[b](Q)

33 Do not be misled:(R) “Bad company corrupts good character.”[c](S) 34 Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God(T)—I say this to your shame.(U)
