Er gebeuren vreselijke dingen in Israël (vervolg)
7 De Heer zegt: "Steeds wanneer Ik Israël genees, worden nieuwe misdaden van Israël en Samaria zichtbaar. Want de mensen bedriegen elkaar. Dieven breken zomaar in. Misdadigers maken de straten onveilig. 2 En ze denken er niet aan dat Ik niets daarvan vergeet. Hun misdaden hebben zich hoog opgestapeld. Ik onthoud alles wat ze doen.
3 Hun koningen genieten van de slechtheid van de mensen. De leiders genieten van de leugens en het bedrog. 4 Ze hebben met allerlei mannen of vrouwen seks. Ze gloeien van verlangen. Ze lijken op de brandende oven van een bakker, waarin het vuur smeult. Eerst heeft de bakker het brood gekneed. Daarna rust hij totdat het deeg is gerezen. Dan stookt hij het vuur hoog op om het brood te gaan bakken. Net zo vlamt hun verlangen hoog op. 5 Op de feestdag van onze koning zorgen ze ervoor dat de koning zoveel wijn drinkt dat hij er ziek van is. Hij doet mee met mensen die zich niets van de Heer aantrekken. 6 Hun hart gloeit. De hele nacht liggen ze op de loer. Hun hart is zo heet als de oven van een bakker, waarin de bakker na zijn nachtrust 's morgens het vuur weer hoog opstookt. 7 Ze zijn allemaal zo heet als een oven. Dat vuur verslindt hun rechters en leiders. Het brengt hun koningen ten val. Maar niemand van hen roept Mij om hulp."
Israël zoekt hulp bij andere landen in plaats van bij de Heer
8 De Heer zegt: "Israël vermengt zich met andere volken. Israël is als een koek die tijdens het bakken niet is omgekeerd. 9 Vreemden hebben hem van zijn kracht beroofd, maar hij merkt het niet. Hij is oud, grijs en zwak geworden, maar hij heeft het niet in de gaten. 10 Israël is veel te trots. Want hij gaat in alle ellende niet terug naar zijn Heer God.
11 Israël lijkt op een domme duif zonder verstand. Hij fladdert van de één naar de ander. Want ze gaan Egypte om hulp vragen. Daarna gaan ze naar Assur. 12 Wanneer ze gaan, zal Ik mijn vangnet over hen heen gooien. Ik zal hen neerhalen zoals je vogels uit de lucht haalt met een net. Ik zal hen vangen, zodra Ik hoor dat ze zich verzamelen.
13 Doordat ze van Mij vandaan zijn gezworven, zal het slecht met hen aflopen. Alles zal verwoest worden, omdat ze Mij niet wilden gehoorzamen. Ik wilde hen redden! Maar ze vertellen leugens over Mij. 14 Ze liggen in hun bed te huilen over hun ellende. Ze maken zich druk over graan en wijn. Maar Mij gehoorzamen willen ze niet. 15 Ík heb hun geleerd hoe ze moeten leven. Ík heb ervoor gezorgd dat ze sterk zijn in de strijd. Maar als dank zeggen ze slechte dingen over Mij. 16 Ze kijken alle kanten op voor hulp, maar niet omhoog naar Mij. Ze zijn zo machteloos als een slechte boog. Hun koningen worden in de strijd gedood. Dat is omdat ze zo'n grote mond hadden. Daarom lacht Egypte hen uit en bespot hen."

Iniquidad y rebelión de Israel
7 Cuando Yo quería curar a Israel,
Se descubrió la iniquidad de Efraín(A)
Y las maldades de Samaria,
Porque practican el engaño(B);
El ladrón entra,
Los bandidos despojan por fuera(C),
2 Y ellos no consideran en su corazón
Que Yo recuerdo toda su maldad(D).
Ahora les rodean sus hechos(E),
Ante Mi rostro están.
3 Con su maldad(F) alegran al rey(G),
Y con sus mentiras a los príncipes(H).
4 Todos ellos son adúlteros(I);
Son como horno encendido por el hornero,
Que deja de atizar el fuego
Desde que prepara la masa hasta que fermenta.
5 En la fiesta[a] de nuestro rey, los príncipes se enfermaron por el calor del vino(J);
Él extendió la mano a los provocadores(K),
6 Pues sus corazones son como un horno
Mientras se acercan a su emboscada;
Toda la noche duerme su ira,
Por la mañana arde como llamas de fuego(L).
7 Todos ellos están calientes como un horno,
Y devoran a sus gobernantes(M);
Todos sus reyes han caído.
No hay entre ellos quien me invoque(N).
8 ¶Efraín se mezcla con las naciones(O);
Efraín es como una torta no volteada.
9 Devoran extranjeros su fuerza(P),
Y él no lo sabe(Q);
También tiene cabellos canos,
Y él no lo sabe.
10 Testifica contra él el orgullo de Israel(R),
Pero no se han vuelto al Señor su Dios,
Ni lo han buscado(S) a pesar de todo esto.
11 Efraín es como paloma incauta(T), sin entendimiento(U);
Llaman a Egipto(V), acuden a Asiria(W).
12 Cuando vayan, tenderé sobre ellos Mi red(X),
Como aves del cielo los haré caer;
Los castigaré conforme a lo anunciado a su congregación(Y).
13 ¡Ay de ellos(Z), pues de Mí se han alejado(AA)!
Sobre ellos vendrá la destrucción, porque contra Mí se han rebelado;
Yo los redimiría, pero ellos hablan mentiras contra Mí(AB).
14 Y no claman a Mí(AC) de corazón
Cuando gimen en sus lechos;
Por el trigo y el vino nuevo se reúnen[b](AD),
Y se alejan de Mí(AE).
15 Aunque Yo adiestré y fortalecí sus brazos,
Traman el mal contra Mí(AF).
16 Se vuelven, pero no hacia lo alto[c],
Son como un arco engañoso(AG).
Sus príncipes caerán a espada
Por la insolencia de sus lenguas(AH).
Esto será su escarnio en la tierra de Egipto(AI).

7 y cuando yo sane a Israel,
la perversidad de Efraín y la maldad de Samaria
quedarán al descubierto.
Porque ellos cometen fraudes;
mientras el ladrón se mete en las casas,
una banda de salteadores roba en las calles.
2 No consideran en sus corazones[a]
que yo recuerdo todas sus maldades.
Sus malas acciones los tienen cercados,
siempre las tengo presentes.
3 »Con su maldad alegran al rey;
con sus mentiras, a los príncipes.
4 ¡Todos ellos son adúlteros!
Parecen un horno encendido
cuyo fuego no hace falta atizar
desde que el panadero prepara la harina hasta que la masa fermenta.
5 En el día de fiesta de nuestro rey,
los príncipes se encienden con el vino
y el rey da la mano a los burladores.
6 Sus corazones son como un horno,
mientras se acercan con intrigas.
Su ira se adormece por la noche,
pero se reaviva por la mañana.
7 Todos ellos arden como un horno
y devoran a sus gobernantes.
Caen todos sus reyes,
pero ninguno de ellos me invoca.
8 »Efraín se mezcla con las naciones;
parece una torta cocida de un solo lado.
9 Los extranjeros minan sus fuerzas,
pero él ni cuenta se da.
Su pelo se ha encanecido,
pero él ni cuenta se da.
10 La arrogancia de Israel testifica en su contra,
pero él no se vuelve al Señor su Dios;
a pesar de todo esto,
no lo busca.
11 »Efraín es como una paloma
torpe y sin entendimiento,
que unas veces pide ayuda a Egipto
y otras, recurre a Asiria.
12 Cuando vayan, lanzaré mi red sobre ellos;
los derribaré como a las aves del cielo
y cuando escuche que están juntos,
los atraparé.
13 ¡Ay de ellos,
que de mí se alejaron!
¡Destrucción vendrá sobre ellos
por rebelarse contra mí!
Yo bien podría redimirlos,
pero ellos mienten sobre mí.
14 No me invocan de corazón,
sino que se lamentan echados en sus camas.
Para obtener grano y vino nuevo
se laceran[b]
y se ponen en mi contra.
15 Yo adiestré y fortalecí sus brazos,
pero ellos maquinan maldades contra mí.
16 No se vuelven al Altísimo;
son como un arco engañoso.
Sus líderes caerán a filo de espada
por sus palabras insolentes.
Y en la tierra de Egipto
se burlarán de ellos.

7 1 whenever I would heal Israel,
the sins of Ephraim are exposed
and the crimes of Samaria revealed.(A)
They practice deceit,(B)
thieves break into houses,(C)
bandits rob in the streets;(D)
2 but they do not realize
that I remember(E) all their evil deeds.(F)
Their sins engulf them;(G)
they are always before me.
3 “They delight the king with their wickedness,
the princes with their lies.(H)
4 They are all adulterers,(I)
burning like an oven
whose fire the baker need not stir
from the kneading of the dough till it rises.
5 On the day of the festival of our king
the princes become inflamed with wine,(J)
and he joins hands with the mockers.(K)
6 Their hearts are like an oven;(L)
they approach him with intrigue.
Their passion smolders all night;
in the morning it blazes like a flaming fire.
7 All of them are hot as an oven;
they devour their rulers.
All their kings fall,(M)
and none of them calls(N) on me.
8 “Ephraim mixes(O) with the nations;
Ephraim is a flat loaf not turned over.
9 Foreigners sap his strength,(P)
but he does not realize it.
His hair is sprinkled with gray,
but he does not notice.
10 Israel’s arrogance testifies against him,(Q)
but despite all this
he does not return(R) to the Lord his God
or search(S) for him.
11 “Ephraim is like a dove,(T)
easily deceived and senseless—
now calling to Egypt,(U)
now turning to Assyria.(V)
12 When they go, I will throw my net(W) over them;
I will pull them down like the birds in the sky.
When I hear them flocking together,
I will catch them.
13 Woe(X) to them,
because they have strayed(Y) from me!
Destruction to them,
because they have rebelled against me!
I long to redeem them
but they speak about me(Z) falsely.(AA)
14 They do not cry out to me from their hearts(AB)
but wail on their beds.
They slash themselves,[a] appealing to their gods
for grain and new wine,(AC)
but they turn away from me.(AD)
15 I trained(AE) them and strengthened their arms,
but they plot evil(AF) against me.
16 They do not turn to the Most High;(AG)
they are like a faulty bow.(AH)
Their leaders will fall by the sword
because of their insolent(AI) words.
For this they will be ridiculed(AJ)
in the land of Egypt.(AK)
