Hosea 5
King James Version
5 Hear ye this, O priests; and hearken, ye house of Israel; and give ye ear, O house of the king; for judgment is toward you, because ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.
2 And the revolters are profound to make slaughter, though I have been a rebuker of them all.
3 I know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from me: for now, O Ephraim, thou committest whoredom, and Israel is defiled.
4 They will not frame their doings to turn unto their God: for the spirit of whoredoms is in the midst of them, and they have not known the Lord.
5 And the pride of Israel doth testify to his face: therefore shall Israel and Ephraim fall in their iniquity: Judah also shall fall with them.
6 They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek the Lord; but they shall not find him; he hath withdrawn himself from them.
7 They have dealt treacherously against the Lord: for they have begotten strange children: now shall a month devour them with their portions.
8 Blow ye the cornet in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah: cry aloud at Bethaven, after thee, O Benjamin.
9 Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke: among the tribes of Israel have I made known that which shall surely be.
10 The princes of Judah were like them that remove the bound: therefore I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.
11 Ephraim is oppressed and broken in judgment, because he willingly walked after the commandment.
12 Therefore will I be unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.
13 When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.
14 For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him.
15 I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.

5 “오, 제사장들아, 이 말을 들어라.
오, 이스라엘 집안아, 내 말에 귀를 기울여라.
오, 왕족들아, 귀를 기울여라.
너희는 죄가 있다고 심판을 받았다[a].
너희는 산에 놓은 덫과 같고
다볼 산 위에 펼쳐 놓은 그물과 같고
2 싯딤에 파 놓은 함정과 같다[b].
그러니 나는 너희 모두를 벌하겠다.
3 나는 에브라임을 잘 알고
이스라엘도 제 한 짓을 내 앞에서 감출 수 없다.

지금 너는 창녀가 돼 버렸고
이스라엘도 죄로 더러워져 있다.
4 이스라엘 백성이 저지른 악한 짓들이
그들을 하나님께 돌아가지 못하게 막고 있다.
그들 속에는 바람피우고 싶은 생각뿐.
그들은 주를 알지 못한다.
5 이스라엘이 피우는 거드름이 그들에게 불리한 증언을 하고
에브라임은 죄에 빠져 허우적거린다.
유다 또한 그들과 함께 허우적거린다.
6 그들이 주를 찾아 양떼와 소떼를 몰고 나선다 해도
주께서 그들을 떠나셨으니
그들이 주를 찾지 못할 것이다.
7 그들은 주께 충실하지 않았다.
그들은 사생아를 낳았다.
이제 그들의 ‘새 달’ 축제가 그들과 그들의 땅을 집어삼킬 것이다[c].

8 기브아에서 싸움을 알리는 나팔을 불어라.
라마에서도 비상나팔을 불어라.
벳아웬에도 싸움이 일어났음을 알려라.
베냐민아, 적이 너를 쫓아오고 있다.
9 에브라임이 벌을 받는 날
나라 안 구석구석까지 아무것도 남지 않게 될 것이다.
이스라엘 모든 가문에 일어날 일을 내가 알린다.
10 유다의 통치자들은 다른 사람의 땅을 훔치려는 도둑과 같다.
그러므로 내가 그들 위에 벼락을 내리듯 진노를 내리겠다.
11 에브라임은 우상을 섬기다가 적들에게 짓밟히고
심판을 받아 산산조각이 나고 말리라.
12 나는 에브라임을 좀 먹은 옷처럼 문드러지고
유다 가문은 녹슬어 부스러지게 만들겠다.
13 에브라임은 자기에게 죽을병이든 것을 알고
앗시리아를 찾아 가고
유다는 제 몸에 난 상처를 보고
앗시리아 왕에게 사절을 보내지만
그는 너희의 병을 고치지 못하고
너희의 상처를 낫게 하지도 못한다.
14 내가 사자처럼 에브라임에게 달려들고
용맹스런 사자처럼 유다에게 달려들어
그들을 물어다 갈기갈기 찢을 것이니
아무도 내 입에서 그들을 구해내지 못하리라.
15 나는 이제 내 집으로 돌아가
그들이 죄를 뉘우치고 그들이 나를 찾아올 때를 기다리겠다.
이 백성이 어려운 일을 당하면 애타게 나를 찾을 것이다.”
