And (A)the revolters (B)have gone deep into slaughter,
    but (C)I will discipline all of them.

15 Every evil of theirs is in (A)Gilgal;
    there I began to hate them.
Because of the wickedness of their deeds
    I will drive them out of my house.
I will love them no more;
    all (B)their princes are (C)rebels.

they murder on the way to (B)Shechem;

A Plot to Kill Paul

12 When it was day, (A)the Jews made a plot and (B)bound themselves by an oath neither to eat nor drink till they had killed Paul. 13 There were more than forty who made this conspiracy. 14 They went to the chief priests and elders and said, “We have strictly bound ourselves by an oath to taste no food till we have killed Paul. 15 Now therefore you, along with the council, give notice to the tribune to bring him down to you, as though you were going to determine his case more exactly. And we are ready to kill him before he comes near.”

And the chief priests and the scribes (A)were seeking how to put him to death, for they feared the people.

Judas to Betray Jesus

(B)Then (C)Satan entered into (D)Judas called Iscariot, who was of the number of the twelve. He went away and conferred with the chief priests and (E)officers how he might betray him to them. And they were glad, and agreed to give him money.

    (A)the oppressing city!

Israel Has Not Returned to the Lord

“I gave you cleanness of teeth in all your cities,
    and (A)lack of bread in all your places,
(B)yet you did not return to me,”
declares the Lord.

“I also (C)withheld the rain from you
    when there were yet three months to the harvest;
(D)I would send rain on one city,
    and send no rain on another city;
one field would have rain,
    and the field on which it did not rain would wither;
so two or three cities (E)would wander to another city
    to drink water, and would not be satisfied;
(F)yet you did not return to me,”
declares the Lord.

(G)“I struck you with blight and mildew;
    your many gardens and your vineyards,
    your fig trees and your olive trees (H)the locust devoured;
(I)yet you did not return to me,”
declares the Lord.

10 “I sent among you a pestilence (J)after the manner of Egypt;
    I killed your young men with the sword,
and (K)carried away your horses,[a]
    and (L)I made the stench of your camp go up into your nostrils;
(M)yet you did not return to me,”
declares the Lord.

11 “I overthrew some of you,
    (N)as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah,
    and you were (O)as a brand[b] plucked out of the burning;
(P)yet you did not return to me,”
declares the Lord.

12 “Therefore thus I will do to you, O Israel;
    because I will do this to you,
    prepare to meet your God, O Israel!”
