⁵ Then a voice came from the throne, saying, ^(A)“Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, ^(B)both^[a] small and great!”

^6 (C)And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For ^(D)the^[b] Lord God Omnipotent reigns! ⁷ Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for ^(E)the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” ⁸ And ^(F)to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, ^(G)for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.

⁹ Then he said to me, “Write: ^(H)‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, ^(I)“These are the true sayings of God.” ¹⁰ And ^(J)I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, ^(K)“See that you do not do that! I am your ^(L)fellow servant, and of your brethren ^(M)who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the ^(N)testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

Jesus Is Questioned About Fasting^(A)

^18 (B)The disciples of John and of the Pharisees were fasting. Then they came and said to Him, “Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?”

¹⁹ And Jesus said to them, “Can the ^[a]friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them? As long as they have the bridegroom with them they cannot fast. ²⁰ But the days will come when the bridegroom will be ^(C)taken away from them, and then they will fast in those days. ²¹ No one sews a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; or else the new piece pulls away from the old, and the tear is made worse. ²² And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins.”
