³ For I know my transgressions,

⁷ Cleanse^(K) me with hyssop,^(L) and I will be clean;
    wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.^(M)
8 Let me hear joy and gladness;^(N)
    let the bones^(O) you have crushed rejoice.
⁹ Hide your face from my sins^(P)
    and blot out^(Q) all my iniquity.

¹⁰ Create in me a pure heart,^(R) O God,
    and renew a steadfast spirit within me.^(S)

³¹ “Suppose someone says to God,
    ‘I am guilty^(A) but will offend no more.
³² Teach me what I cannot see;^(B)
    if I have done wrong, I will not do so again.’^(C)

²¹ Why do you not pardon my offenses
    and forgive my sins?^(A)
For I will soon lie down in the dust;^(B)
    you will search for me, but I will be no more.”^(C)

¹⁸ Who is a God^(A) like you,
    who pardons sin^(B) and forgives^(C) the transgression
    of the remnant^(D) of his inheritance?^(E)
You do not stay angry^(F) forever
    but delight to show mercy.^(G)
19 You will again have compassion on us;
    you will tread our sins underfoot
    and hurl all our iniquities^(H) into the depths of the sea.^(I)
