Hosea 13:4-8
New King James Version
4 “Yet (A)I am the Lord your God
Ever since the land of Egypt,
And you shall know no God but Me;
For (B)there is no savior besides Me.
5 (C)I [a]knew you in the wilderness,
(D)In the land of [b]great drought.
6 (E)When they had pasture, they were filled;
They were filled and their heart was exalted;
Therefore they forgot Me.
7 “So (F)I will be to them like a lion;
Like (G)a leopard by the road I will lurk;
8 I will meet them (H)like a bear deprived of her cubs;
I will tear open their rib cage,
And there I will devour them like a lion.
The [c]wild beast shall tear them.

5 “I knew thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.
6 According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten Me.
7 Therefore I will be unto them as a lion; as a leopard by the way will I observe them.
8 I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion; the beast of the field shall tear them.
