8 When she had weaned Lo-ruhamah, she conceived and gave birth to a son. 9 And [a]the Lord said, “Name him [b]Lo-ammi, because you are not My people, and I am not [c]your God.”
10 [d]Yet the number of the sons of Israel
Will be like the (A)sand of the sea,
Which cannot be measured or counted;
And (B)in the place
Where it is said to them,
“You are (C)not My people,”
It will be said to them,
“You are the (D)sons of the living God.”

8 After she had weaned Lo-Ruhamah,(A) Gomer had another son. 9 Then the Lord said, “Call him Lo-Ammi (which means “not my people”), for you are not my people, and I am not your God.[a](B)
10 “Yet the Israelites will be like the sand on the seashore, which cannot be measured or counted.(C) In the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ they will be called ‘children of the living God.’(D)
