Assurance of Forgiveness

I will heal their faithlessness;
    I will love them freely,
    for my anger has turned from them.
I will be as the dew to Israel;
    he shall blossom as the lily,
    he shall strike root as the poplar;[a]
his shoots shall spread out;
    his beauty shall be like the olive,
    and his fragrance like Lebanon.
They shall return and dwell beneath my[b] shadow,
    they shall flourish as a garden;[c]
they shall blossom as the vine,
    their fragrance shall be like the wine of Lebanon.

O E′phraim, what have I to do with idols?
    It is I who answer and look after you.[d]
I am like an evergreen cypress,
    from me comes your fruit.

His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive-tree, and his smell as Lebanon. They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the grain, and blossom as the vine: [a]the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon. [b]Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have answered, and will regard him: I am like a green fir-tree; from me is thy fruit found.
