7 So My people are bent on (A)turning from Me.
Though [a]they call [b]them to the One on high,
None at all exalts Him.
8 (B)How can I give you up, O Ephraim?
How can I surrender you, O Israel?
How can I [c]make you like (C)Admah?
How can I treat you like (D)Zeboiim?
My heart is turned over within Me,
[d]All My compassions are kindled.
9 I will (E)not execute My fierce anger;
I will not destroy Ephraim (F)again.
For (G)I am God and not man, the (H)Holy One in your midst,
And I will not come in [e]wrath.

I will by no means exalt them.

How can I treat you like Admah?
How can I make you like Zeboyim?(E)
My heart is changed within me;
all my compassion(F) is aroused.(G)
9 I will not carry out my fierce anger,(H)
nor will I devastate(I) Ephraim again.
For I am God, and not a man(J)—
the Holy One(K) among you.
I will not come against their cities.
