8 After Gomer had weaned Lo Ruhamah, she became pregnant again and had a son. 9 Yahweh said, “Name him Lo Ammi [Not My People]. You are no longer my people, and I am no longer your Ehyeh.[a] [b]
10 “Yet, the Israelites will become as numerous as the grains of sand on the seashore. No one will be able to measure them or count them. Wherever they were told, ‘You are not my people,’ they will be told, ‘You are the children of El Chay.’

New International Version
8 After she had weaned Lo-Ruhamah,(A) Gomer had another son. 9 Then the Lord said, “Call him Lo-Ammi (which means “not my people”), for you are not my people, and I am not your God.[a](B)
10 “Yet the Israelites will be like the sand on the seashore, which cannot be measured or counted.(C) In the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ they will be called ‘children of the living God.’(D)
