⁶⁴ “Then the Lord ^(A)will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other, and ^(B)there you shall serve other gods, which neither you nor your fathers have known—wood and stone. ⁶⁵ And ^(C)among those nations you shall find no rest, nor shall the sole of your foot have a resting place; ^(D)but there the Lord will give you a ^[a]trembling heart, failing eyes, and ^(E)anguish of soul.

²³ And it shall be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’

¹¹ “But they refused to heed, ^(A)shrugged^[a] their shoulders, and ^(B)stopped^[b] their ears so that they could not hear. ¹² Yes, they made their ^(C)hearts like flint, ^(D)refusing to hear the law and the words which the Lord of hosts had sent by His Spirit through the former prophets. ^(E)Thus great wrath came from the Lord of hosts. ¹³ Therefore it happened, that just as He proclaimed and they would not hear, so ^(F)they called out and I would not listen,” says the Lord of hosts. ¹⁴ “But ^(G)I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations which they had not known. Thus the land became desolate after them, so that no one passed through or returned; for they made the pleasant land desolate.”

⁴ “Do not be like your fathers, ^(A)to whom the former prophets preached, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: ^(B)“Turn now from your evil ways and your evil deeds.” ’ But they did not hear nor heed Me,” says the Lord.
