² For I am ^(A)jealous for you with godly jealousy. For ^(B)I have betrothed you to one husband, ^(C)that I may present you ^(D)as a chaste virgin to Christ.

² Then I, ^[a]John, saw ^(A)the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared ^(B)as a bride adorned for her husband.

^25 (A)Then they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob My servant, where your fathers dwelt; and they shall dwell there, they, their children, and their children’s children, ^(B)forever; and ^(C)My servant David shall be their prince forever. ²⁶ Moreover I will ^[a]make ^(D)a covenant of peace with them, and it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; I will establish them and ^(E)multiply them, and I will set My ^(F)sanctuary in their midst forevermore. ^27 (G)My tabernacle also shall be with them; indeed I will be ^(H)their God, and they shall be My people. ^28 (I)The nations also will know that I, the Lord, ^(J)sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forevermore.” ’ ”

⁷ Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for ^(A)the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” ⁸ And ^(B)to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, ^(C)for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.

⁹ Then he said to me, “Write: ^(D)‘Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!’ ” And he said to me, ^(E)“These are the true sayings of God.”

²³ For ^(A)the husband is head of the wife, as also ^(B)Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. ²⁴ Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands ^(C)in everything.

^25 (D)Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and ^(E)gave Himself for her, ²⁶ that He might ^[a]sanctify and cleanse her ^(F)with the washing of water ^(G)by the word, ^27 (H)that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, ^(I)not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.

⁴ Therefore, my brethren, you also have become ^(A)dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you may be married to another—to Him who was raised from the dead, that we should ^(B)bear fruit to God.

¹⁴ “Return, O backsliding children,” says the Lord; ^(A)“for I am married to you. I will take you, ^(B)one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to ^(C)Zion. ¹⁵ And I will give you ^(D)shepherds according to My heart, who will ^(E)feed you with knowledge and understanding.
