¹⁸ In that day I will make a covenant for them
    with the beasts of the field, the birds in the sky
    and the creatures that move along the ground.^(A)
Bow and sword and battle
    I will abolish^(B) from the land,
    so that all may lie down in safety.^(C)

⁶ In his days Judah will be saved
    and Israel will live in safety.^(A)
This is the name^(B) by which he will be called:
    The Lord Our Righteous Savior.^(C)

⁶ The wolf will live with the lamb,^(A)
    the leopard will lie down with the goat,
the calf and the lion and the yearling^[a] together;
    and a little child will lead them.
⁷ The cow will feed with the bear,
    their young will lie down together,
    and the lion will eat straw like the ox.^(B)
8 The infant^(C) will play near the cobra’s den,
    and the young child will put its hand into the viper’s^(D) nest.
⁹ They will neither harm nor destroy^(E)
    on all my holy mountain,^(F)
for the earth^(G) will be filled with the knowledge^(H) of the Lord
    as the waters cover the sea.

⁴ He will judge^(A) between the nations
    and will settle disputes^(B) for many peoples.
They will beat their swords into plowshares
    and their spears into pruning hooks.^(C)
Nation will not take up sword against nation,^(D)
    nor will they train for war anymore.

⁹ He makes wars^(A) cease
    to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow^(B) and shatters the spear;
    he burns the shields^[a] with fire.^(C)

²⁵ The wolf and the lamb^(A) will feed together,
    and the lion will eat straw like the ox,^(B)
    and dust will be the serpent’s^(C) food.
They will neither harm nor destroy
    on all my holy mountain,”^(D)
says the Lord.

²³ For you will have a covenant^(A) with the stones^(B) of the field,
    and the wild animals will be at peace with you.^(C)
