¹³ But you have planted wickedness,
    you have reaped evil,^(A)
    you have eaten the fruit of deception.^(B)
Because you have depended on your own strength
    and on your many warriors,^(C)

⁸ As I have observed,^(A) those who plow evil^(B)
    and those who sow trouble reap it.^(C)

⁷ “They sow the wind
    and reap the whirlwind.^(A)
The stalk has no head;
    it will produce no flour.^(B)
Were it to yield grain,
    foreigners would swallow it up.^(C)

⁸ Whoever sows injustice reaps calamity,^(A)
    and the rod they wield in fury will be broken.^(B)

³¹ they will eat the fruit of their ways
    and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.^(A)

¹⁶ No king is saved by the size of his army;^(A)
    no warrior escapes by his great strength.

²⁰ From the fruit of their mouth a person’s stomach is filled;
    with the harvest of their lips they are satisfied.^(A)

²¹ The tongue has the power of life and death,^(B)
    and those who love it will eat its fruit.^(C)
