Hiob 11
Hoffnung für Alle
Zofar: Gottes Weisheit kannst du nicht begreifen!
11 Darauf erwiderte Zofar aus Naama:
2 »Soll diese Flut von Worten ohne Antwort bleiben?
Darf denn ein Schwätzer recht behalten?
3 Meinst du etwa, dein leeres Gerede verschlägt uns die Sprache?
Willst du weiter spotten,
ohne dass dich jemand zurechtweist?
4 Du sagst zu Gott:
›Meine Urteile sind völlig richtig!
In deinen Augen bin ich rein!‹
5 Hiob, ich wünsche nichts sehnlicher,
als dass Gott mit dir redet
6 und dir zeigt,
wie unendlich tief seine Weisheit ist!
Sie hat so viele Seiten!
Kein Mensch kann sie begreifen.
Glaub mir:
Gott sieht über viele deiner Sünden hinweg!
7 Kannst du die Geheimnisse Gottes erforschen
und die Vollkommenheit des Allmächtigen erfassen?
8 Der Himmel oben setzt Gott keine Grenze – dir aber allemal[a]!
Gott kennt die Welt der Toten unten in der Tiefe – du aber nicht!
9 Seine Größe überragt die Erde
und reicht weiter als das Meer!
10 Wenn er kommt,
dich gefangen nimmt und dann Gericht hält –
wer kann ihn daran hindern?
11 Nichtsnutzige Menschen kennt er ganz genau,
ihr böses Treiben entgeht ihm nicht.
12 Ein Hohlkopf kommt nicht zur Vernunft,
genauso wenig, wie ein Wildesel als Mensch geboren wird.
13 Hiob, fass einen klaren Entschluss:
Streck deine Hände empor und bete zu Gott!
14 Mach deinen Fehler wieder gut
und lass in deinen Zelten kein neues Unrecht geschehen!
15 Dann kannst du jedem wieder offen ins Gesicht sehen,
unerschütterlich und furchtlos stehst du im Leben deinen Mann!
16 Bald schon wird all dein Leid vergessen sein
wie Wasser, das versickert ist.
17 Dann kann dein Leben noch einmal beginnen
und leuchten wie die Mittagssonne,
auch die dunkelsten Stunden werden strahlen wie der lichte Morgen.
18 Dann hast du endlich wieder Hoffnung
und kannst zuversichtlich sein.
Abends siehst du noch einmal nach dem Rechten
und legst dich dann in Frieden schlafen.
19 Kein Feind schreckt dich auf – im Gegenteil:
Viele werden sich um deine Gunst bemühen.
20 Aber alle, die Gott missachten,
schauen sich vergeblich nach Hilfe um;
sie haben keine Zuflucht mehr!
Ihnen bleibt nur noch der letzte Atemzug.«

11 Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,
2 Should not the multitude of words be answered?
And should a man full of talk be justified?
3 Should thy boastings make men hold their peace?
And when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?
4 For thou sayest, My doctrine is pure,
And I am clean in thine eyes.
5 But oh that God would speak,
And open his lips against thee,
6 And that he would show thee the secrets of wisdom!
For he is manifold in understanding.
Know therefore that God [a]exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.
7 [b]Canst thou by searching find out God?
Canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?
8 [c]It is high as heaven; what canst thou do?
Deeper than Sheol; what canst thou know?
9 The measure thereof is longer than the earth,
And broader than the sea.
10 If he pass through, and shut up,
And [d]all unto judgment, then who can hinder him?
11 For he knoweth false men:
He seeth iniquity also, [e]even though he consider it not.
12 [f]But vain man is void of understanding,
Yea, man is born as a wild ass’s colt.
13 If thou set thy heart aright,
And stretch out thy hands toward him;
14 If iniquity be in thy hand, put it far away,
And let not unrighteousness dwell in thy tents.
15 Surely then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot;
Yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:
16 For thou shalt forget thy misery;
Thou shalt remember it as waters that are passed away,
17 And thy life shall [g]be clearer than the noonday;
Though there be darkness, it shall be as the morning.
18 And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope;
Yea, thou shalt search about thee, and shalt take thy rest in safety.
19 Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid;
Yea, many shall make suit unto thee.
20 But the eyes of the wicked shall fail,
And [h]they shall have no way to flee;
And their hope shall be the giving up of the ghost.
