Letzte Gerichtsworte über Jerusalem. Das Gleichnis vom rostigen Topf
24 Im neunten Jahr, im zehnten Monat, am zehnten Tag des Monats, erging das Wort des Herrn an mich folgendermaßen:
2 Menschensohn, schreibe dir den Namen dieses Tages auf, ja, eben dieses heutigen Tages; denn der König von Babel rückt an eben diesem Tag gegen Jerusalem heran!
3 Und du sollst dem widerspenstigen Haus ein Gleichnis vortragen und zu ihnen sagen: So spricht Gott, der Herr: Setze den Topf auf, setze ihn auf und gieße auch Wasser hinein!
4 Sammle die Fleischstücke dafür, alle guten Stücke, Lende und Schulter, und fülle ihn mit den besten Knochen;
5 nimm das Beste von den Schafen und schichte auch Holzscheite darunter auf; lass es tüchtig sieden, damit auch seine Knochen darin gut kochen!
6 Darum, so spricht Gott, der Herr: Wehe der blutbefleckten Stadt, dem Topf, an dem noch der Rost hängt und von dem der Rost nicht abgefegt ist! Nimm Fleischstück um Fleischstück heraus, ohne das Los darüber zu werfen!
7 Denn ihr Blut ist noch mitten in ihr. Sie hat es auf einen nackten Felsen gegossen und nicht auf die Erde geschüttet, dass man es mit Staub hätte zudecken können.
8 Um meinen Zorn auflodern zu lassen und Rache zu nehmen, habe ich ihr Blut auf einen nackten Felsen gießen lassen, dass man es nicht zudecken kann.
9 Darum, so spricht Gott, der Herr: Wehe der blutdürstigen Stadt! Auch ich will einen großen Holzstoß aufrichten!
10 Trage viel Holz zusammen, zünde das Feuer an, koche das Fleisch gar, bereite eine Brühe, und die Knochen sollen anbrennen!
11 Stelle danach den leeren Topf auf seine Kohlen, damit sein Erz heiß und glühend wird, damit seine Unreinheit in ihm schmilzt und sein Rost verzehrt wird.
12 Es ist vergebliche Mühe! Der viele Rost geht doch nicht weg, sein Rost bleibt auch im Feuer.
13 Du begehst wieder Unzucht in deiner Unreinheit! Weil ich dich reinigen wollte und du dich nicht reinigen ließest, so sollst du von deiner Unreinheit nicht mehr gereinigt werden, bis ich meinen Zorn an dir gestillt habe.
14 Ich, der Herr, habe es gesagt; es kommt dazu, und ich werde es tun! Ich lasse nicht nach, ich schone nicht, und es soll mich auch nicht reuen. Man wird dich richten nach deinem Wandel und nach deinen Taten!, spricht Gott, der Herr.
Hesekiels zeichenhaftes Verhalten beim Tod seiner Ehefrau
15 Und das Wort des Herrn erging an mich folgendermaßen:
16 Menschensohn, siehe, ich will die Lust deiner Augen durch einen [plötzlichen] Schlag von dir wegnehmen; aber du sollst weder klagen noch weinen und keine Tränen darüber vergießen.
17 Seufze still, aber veranstalte keine Totenklage! Binde deinen Kopfbund um und lege deine Schuhe an deine Füße; verhülle den Bart nicht und iss das Brot der Leute nicht[a]!
18 Und ich redete am Morgen früh zu dem Volk, und am Abend starb meine Frau. Da handelte ich am anderen Morgen so, wie mir geboten war.
19 Da sprach das Volk zu mir: Willst du uns nicht wissen lassen, was das für uns bedeuten soll, was du da tust?
20 Ich antwortete ihnen: Das Wort des Herrn ist so an mich ergangen:
21 Sprich zu dem Haus Israel: So spricht Gott, der Herr: Seht, ich will mein Heiligtum entweihen, euren höchsten Stolz, die Lust eurer Augen und das Verlangen eurer Seelen; und eure Söhne und eure Töchter, die ihr zurückgelassen habt, sollen durchs Schwert fallen.
22 Da werdet ihr handeln, wie ich gehandelt habe; ihr werdet den Bart nicht verhüllen und das Brot der Leute nicht essen,
23 und ihr werdet euren Kopfbund auf dem Kopf behalten und eure Schuhe an euren Füßen; ihr werdet weder klagen noch weinen, sondern ihr werdet in euren Missetaten dahinschwinden und miteinander seufzen.
24 Und so wird Hesekiel für euch ein Zeichen sein; ihr werdet genau so handeln, wie er gehandelt hat; und wenn es eintreffen wird, werdet ihr erkennen, dass ich Gott, der Herr, bin!
25 Du aber, Menschensohn, siehe, an dem Tag, da ich ihnen ihre starke Burg[b] wegnehmen werde, den prächtigen Gegenstand ihrer Freude, die Lust ihrer Augen, das Verlangen ihrer Seelen, ihre Söhne und ihre Töchter
26 — an jenem Tag wird ein Entflohener zu dir kommen, dass du es mit eigenen Ohren hören kannst.
27 An jenem Tag wird dein Mund vor dem Entflohenen aufgetan werden, dass du reden und nicht mehr stumm sein wirst; und du wirst für sie ein Zeichen sein, und sie werden erkennen, dass ich der Herr bin.

24 Again in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, write thee the name of the day, even of this same day: the king of Babylon set himself against Jerusalem this same day.
3 And utter a parable unto the rebellious house, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord God; Set on a pot, set it on, and also pour water into it:
4 Gather the pieces thereof into it, even every good piece, the thigh, and the shoulder; fill it with the choice bones.
5 Take the choice of the flock, and burn also the bones under it, and make it boil well, and let them seethe the bones of it therein.
6 Wherefore thus saith the Lord God; Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose scum is therein, and whose scum is not gone out of it! bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall upon it.
7 For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the top of a rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust;
8 That it might cause fury to come up to take vengeance; I have set her blood upon the top of a rock, that it should not be covered.
9 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Woe to the bloody city! I will even make the pile for fire great.
10 Heap on wood, kindle the fire, consume the flesh, and spice it well, and let the bones be burned.
11 Then set it empty upon the coals thereof, that the brass of it may be hot, and may burn, and that the filthiness of it may be molten in it, that the scum of it may be consumed.
12 She hath wearied herself with lies, and her great scum went not forth out of her: her scum shall be in the fire.
13 In thy filthiness is lewdness: because I have purged thee, and thou wast not purged, thou shalt not be purged from thy filthiness any more, till I have caused my fury to rest upon thee.
14 I the Lord have spoken it: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I repent; according to thy ways, and according to thy doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord God.
15 Also the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
16 Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke: yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.
17 Forbear to cry, make no mourning for the dead, bind the tire of thine head upon thee, and put on thy shoes upon thy feet, and cover not thy lips, and eat not the bread of men.
18 So I spake unto the people in the morning: and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.
19 And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these things are to us, that thou doest so?
20 Then I answered them, The word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
21 Speak unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the excellency of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pitieth; and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left shall fall by the sword.
22 And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men.
23 And your tires shall be upon your heads, and your shoes upon your feet: ye shall not mourn nor weep; but ye shall pine away for your iniquities, and mourn one toward another.
24 Thus Ezekiel is unto you a sign: according to all that he hath done shall ye do: and when this cometh, ye shall know that I am the Lord God.
25 Also, thou son of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their minds, their sons and their daughters,
26 That he that escapeth in that day shall come unto thee, to cause thee to hear it with thine ears?
27 In that day shall thy mouth be opened to him which is escaped, and thou shalt speak, and be no more dumb: and thou shalt be a sign unto them; and they shall know that I am the Lord.

The Siege of Jerusalem
24 (A)In the ninth year, in the tenth month, on the tenth day of the month, the word of the Lord came to me: 2 (B)“Son of man, write down the name of this day, this very day. The king of Babylon has laid siege to Jerusalem this very day. 3 And (C)utter a parable to (D)the rebellious house and say to them, Thus says the Lord God:
“Set on (E)the pot, set it on;
pour in water also;
4 put in it the pieces of meat,
all the good pieces, (F)the thigh and the shoulder;
fill it with choice bones.
5 Take the choicest one of the flock;
pile the logs[a] under it;
boil it well;
seethe also its bones in it.
6 “Therefore thus says the Lord God: (G)Woe to the bloody city, to (H)the pot whose corrosion is in it, and whose corrosion has not gone out of it! Take out of it piece after piece, without making any choice.[b] 7 For the blood she has shed is in her midst; she put it on (I)the bare rock; (J)she did not pour it out on the ground to cover it with dust. 8 To rouse my wrath, to take vengeance, I have set on the bare rock the blood she has shed, that it may not be covered. 9 Therefore thus says the Lord God: Woe to the bloody city! (K)I also will make the pile great. 10 Heap on the logs, kindle the fire, boil the meat well, mix in the spices,[c] and let the bones be burned up. 11 Then set it empty upon the coals, that it may become hot, and its copper may burn, (L)that its uncleanness may be melted in it, its corrosion consumed. 12 (M)She has wearied herself with toil;[d] its abundant corrosion does not go out of it. Into the fire with its corrosion! 13 On account of your unclean lewdness, because I would have cleansed you and you were not cleansed from your uncleanness, (N)you shall not be cleansed anymore till (O)I have satisfied my fury upon you. 14 (P)I am the Lord. I have spoken; it shall come to pass; I will do it. I will not go back; (Q)I will not spare; (R)I will not relent; (S)according to your ways and your deeds you will be judged, declares the Lord God.”
Ezekiel's Wife Dies
15 The word of the Lord came to me: 16 (T)“Son of man, behold, I am about to take the delight of your eyes away from you at a stroke; yet you shall not mourn or weep, nor shall your tears run down. 17 Sigh, but not aloud; make no mourning for the dead. (U)Bind on your turban, and (V)put your shoes on your feet; do not cover your lips, (W)nor eat the bread of men.” 18 So I spoke to the people in the morning, and (X)at evening my wife died. And on the next morning I did (Y)as I was commanded.
19 And (Z)the people said to me, “Will you not tell us what these things mean for us, that you are acting thus?” 20 Then I said to them, “The word of the Lord came to me: 21 ‘Say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: (AA)Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the delight of your eyes, and the yearning of your soul, and (AB)your sons and your daughters whom you left behind shall fall by the sword. 22 And (AC)you shall do as I have done; (AD)you shall not cover your lips, (AE)nor eat the bread of men. 23 (AF)Your turbans shall be on your heads and your shoes on your feet; you shall not mourn or weep, but (AG)you shall rot away in your iniquities and groan to one another. 24 Thus shall Ezekiel be to you (AH)a sign; (AI)according to all that he has done you shall do. When this comes, then (AJ)you will know that I am the Lord God.’
25 “As for you, (AK)son of man, surely on the day when I take from them (AL)their stronghold, their joy and glory, the delight of their eyes and their soul's desire, and also their sons and daughters, 26 (AM)on that day a fugitive will come to you to report to you the news. 27 On that day your mouth (AN)will be opened to the fugitive, and you shall speak and be no longer mute. (AO)So you will be a sign to them, and (AP)they will know that I am the Lord.”

24 Den tionde dagen i tionde månaden i det nionde året kom ännu ett budskap till mig från Herren:
2 Du människa, anteckna detta datum, för i dag har kungen i Babylon anfallit Jerusalem.
3 Berätta nu denna liknelse för rebellerna i Israel! Tala om för dem vad Herren säger! Sätt en gryta över elden och koka upp vatten i den!
4 Fyll den med de bästa köttbitar du kan finna, bitar från lår och bog och de bästa märgbenen.
5 Använd bara de bästa fåren i hjorden och lägg rikligt med bränsle på elden under grytan. Koka köttet väl!
6 Herren Gud säger: Ve över Jerusalem, mördarnas stad! Du är en gryta, full av rost och ondska. Ta därför upp köttstyckena bit för bit, i den ordning de kommer, för inget är bättre än ett annat.
7 Stadens ondska är uppenbar för alla. Hon dödar helt fräckt och lämnar kvar blod synligt på klipporna, så alla kan se det, men inte på marken där dammet snart skulle övertäcka det.
8 Jag har låtit det vara kvar för att påminna mig om henne och väcka upp min vrede och min hämnd.
9 Ve över Jerusalem, mördarnas stad! Jag ska lägga mer bränsle under grytan.
10 Lägg på mer ved, så att elden brinner kraftigare och grytan kokar ordentligt. Koka köttet väl, töm sedan grytan och bränn benen!
11 Sätt sedan den tomma grytan på elden, så att kopparen glöder och rost och orenhet bränns bort!
12 Men inget händer! Alltsammans blir kvar, trots att elden är så het.
13 Rosten är ditt orena begär att tillbe avgudar. Därför att jag nu ville rena dig och du vägrade, får du förbli oren, tills min vrede har fullbordat all olycka som ska komma över dig.
14 Jag, Herren, har sagt detta. Det kommer att ske. Jag ska göra det.
15 Än en gång kom ett budskap från Herren till mig. Han sa:
16 Du människa, jag kommer att ta ifrån dig din älskade hustru. Plötsligt kommer hon att dö. Men du får inte visa någon sorg. Gråt inte! Du får inte fälla en enda tår.
17 Sörj bara tyst för dig själv. Låt det inte bli någon dödsklagan över henne. Behåll både huvudbonad och skor på, dölj inte ditt ansikte och ät inte den särskilda mat som sörjande brukar äta.
18 Jag sa detta till folket på morgonen, och på kvällen var min hustru död. Följande morgon gjorde jag allt som Herren hade sagt till mig.
19 Då sa folket: Vad betyder allt det här? Vad är det du försöker säga oss?
20-21 Jag svarade: Herren har bett mig säga detta till er: Jag kommer att förstöra mitt sköna och vackra tempel, er stolthet. Era söner och döttrar i Judeen kommer att dödas av svärd.
22 Ni kommer då att göra som jag har gjort. Ni kommer inte att sörja så någon ser det, och inte heller trösta er med att äta den mat som goda vänner bär till er.
23 Ni ska behålla huvudbonaderna på era huvuden och skorna på era fötter, och ni kommer inte att sörja eller gråta. Men inför varandra ska ni sörja över era synder och över allt ont ni gjort.
24 Hesekiel är ett exempel för er, säger Herren Gud. Ni ska göra som han har gjort. Och när den stunden kommer, då ska ni förstå att jag är Herren.
25 Du människa, den dag jag slutligen tagit ifrån dem som bor i Jerusalem deras hjärtans glädje och deras ära och härlighet - deras hustrur, söner och döttrar -
26 då ska en flykting från Jerusalem börja sin färd till Babylon för att tala om för dig vad som har hänt.
27 Den dag han kommer fram ska din röst plötsligt komma tillbaka till dig, så att du kan tala med honom, och du ska bli ett tecken för dessa människor så att de förstår att jag är Herren.
