4 ¶ Y hablando ellos al pueblo, sobrevinieron los sacerdotes, y el magistrado del Templo, y los saduceos,
2 resentidos de que enseñaran al pueblo, y anunciaran en el Nombre de Jesús la resurrección de los muertos.
3 Y les echaron mano, y los pusieron en la cárcel hasta el día siguiente; porque era ya tarde.
4 Pero muchos de los que habían oído la palabra, creyeron; y fue el número de los varones como cinco mil.
5 ¶ Y aconteció al día siguiente, que se juntaron en Jerusalén los príncipes de ellos, y los ancianos, y los escribas;
6 y Anás, príncipe de los sacerdotes, y Caifás, y Juan y Alejandro, y todos los que eran del linaje sacerdotal;
7 y haciéndolos presentar en medio, les preguntaron: ¿Con qué potestad, o en qué nombre, habéis hecho vosotros esto?
8 Entonces Pedro, lleno del Espíritu Santo, les dijo: Príncipes del pueblo, y ancianos de Israel:
9 Pues si somos hoy demandados acerca del beneficio hecho a un hombre enfermo, de qué manera éste haya sido sanado,
10 sea notorio a todos vosotros, y a todo el pueblo de Israel, que en el Nombre de Jesús el Cristo, el Nazareno, el que vosotros Colgasteis en un madero, y Dios le resucitó de los muertos, por él este hombre está en vuestra presencia sano.
11 Este es la piedra reprobada por vosotros los edificadores, la cual es puesta por cabeza del ángulo.
12 Y en ningún otro hay salud; porque no hay otro nombre debajo del cielo, dado a los hombres, en que podamos ser salvos.
13 Entonces viendo la constancia de Pedro y de Juan, y sabiendo que eran hombres sin letras e ignorantes, se maravillaban; y les conocían que habían estado con Jesús.
14 Y viendo al hombre que había sido sanado, que estaba con ellos, no podían decir nada en contra.
15 ¶ Mas les mandaron que salieran fuera del concilio; y conferían entre sí,
16 diciendo: ¿Qué hemos de hacer a estos hombres? Porque de cierto, señal manifiesta ha sido hecha por ellos, notoria a todos los que moran en Jerusalén, y no lo podemos negar.
17 Todavía, para que no se divulgue más por el pueblo, amenacémoslos, que no hablen de aquí en adelante a hombre alguno en este Nombre.
18 Y llamándolos, les intimaron que en ninguna manera hablaran ni enseñaran en el Nombre de Jesús.
19 Entonces Pedro y Juan, respondiendo, les dijeron: Juzgad si es justo delante de Dios obedecer antes a vosotros que a Dios;
20 porque no podemos dejar de decir lo que hemos visto y oído.
21 Ellos entonces los despacharon amenazándolos, no hallando ningún modo de castigarlos, por causa del pueblo; porque todos glorificaban a Dios de lo que había sido hecho.
22 Porque el hombre en quien había sido hecho este milagro de sanidad, era de más de cuarenta años.
23 ¶ Y sueltos, vinieron a los suyos, y contaron todo lo que los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los ancianos les habían dicho.
24 Y ellos, habiéndolo oído, alzaron unánimes la voz a Dios, y dijeron: Señor, tú eres el Dios que hiciste el cielo y la tierra, el mar, y todo lo que en ellos hay;
25 que (en el Espíritu Santo) por boca de David (nuestro padre), tu siervo, dijiste: ¿Por qué han bramado los gentiles, y los pueblos han pensado cosas vanas?
26 Asistieron los reyes de la tierra, y los príncipes se juntaron en uno contra el Señor, y contra su Cristo.
27 Porque verdaderamente se juntaron (en esta ciudad) contra tu santo siervo Jesús, al cual ungiste, Herodes y Poncio Pilato, con los gentiles y los pueblos de Israel,
28 para hacer lo que tu mano y tu consejo habían antes determinado que había de ser hecho.
29 Y ahora, Señor, mira sus amenazas, y da a tus esclavos que con toda confianza hablen tu palabra;
30 que extiendas tu mano a que sanidades, y milagros, y prodigios sean hechos por el Nombre de tu santo esclavo Jesús.
31 Cuando hubieron orado, el lugar en que estaban congregados tembló; y todos fueron llenos del Espíritu Santo, y hablaron la palabra de Dios con confianza.
32 ¶ Y de la multitud de los que habían creído era un corazón y un alma; y ninguno decía ser suyo algo de lo que poseía; mas todas las cosas les eran comunes.
33 Y los apóstoles daban testimonio de la resurrección del Señor Jesús con gran poder; y gran gracia era sobre todos ellos.
34 Que ningún necesitado había entre ellos; porque todos los que poseían heredades o casas, vendiéndolas, traían el precio de lo vendido,
35 y lo ponían a los pies de los apóstoles; y era repartido a cada uno de acuerdo a su necesidad.
36 Entonces José, que fue llamado de los apóstoles por sobrenombre, Bernabé, (que es interpretado, Hijo de consolación) levita, natural de Chipre,
37 como tenía una heredad, la vendió, y trajo el precio, y lo puso a los pies de los apóstoles.

4 And as they spake unto the people, the priests, and the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees, came upon them,
2 Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
3 And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide.
4 Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.
5 And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes,
6 And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem.
7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this?
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,
9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.
22 For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed.
23 And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.
24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:
25 Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?
26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.
27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,
28 For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.
29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.
36 And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,
37 Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

Petrus och Johannes arresteras
4 Medan Petrus och Johannes fortfarande talade till folket, kom prästerna, officeren vid tempelvakten och saddukeerna[a] fram till dem. 2 De var mycket upprörda över att de undervisade folket och utifrån Jesus förkunnade uppståndelsen från de döda. 3 Därför grep de Petrus och Johannes och satte dem sedan i fängelse över natten eftersom det hunnit bli kväll. 4 Men många som hade lyssnat till budskapet började tro och antalet troende hade nu stigit till omkring 5 000 män.
5 Följande dag samlades de högsta styresmännen och folkets ledare och de skriftlärda i Jerusalem.[b] 6 Översteprästen Hannas var där, liksom Kajafas, Johannes, Alexandros och alla övriga från översteprästernas släkt. 7 De lät sedan hämta Petrus och Johannes och frågade dem:
”Genom vilken kraft och i vems namn har ni gjort det här?”
8 Då fylldes Petrus av den heliga Anden och svarade dem:
”Ni styresmän och ledare för folket! 9 Om vi idag frågas ut om en god gärning mot en handikappad man och på vilket sätt han blev frisk, 10 ska både ni och alla andra i Israel veta att det är i nasarén Jesus Kristus namn som den här mannen står framför er fullständigt frisk. Ni korsfäste Jesus, men Gud uppväckte honom från de döda. 11 Han är
’den sten som inte dög åt er byggnadsarbetare
har blivit en hörnsten.[c]’
12 Räddningen finns inte hos någon annan och det finns inget annat namn bland människor under hela himlen som kan rädda oss.”
13 När de såg hur modiga Petrus och Johannes var och att de tydligen var vanliga enkla människor utan högre utbildning,[d] blev de mycket förvånade. De visste bara att dessa hade varit tillsammans med Jesus. 14 Men eftersom de kunde se mannen stå där bredvid dem fullt frisk, kunde de inget säga. 15 Därför skickade de ut dem ur rådssalen och började diskutera med varandra. 16 De sa: ”Vad ska vi göra med de här människorna? Vi kan ju inte neka till att de har gjort ett stort tecken och alla i Jerusalem känner redan till det. 17 Men vi kanske kan hindra att detta sprids ännu mer bland folket. Vi varnar dem för att i fortsättningen tala till någon mer i det namnet.”
18 Sedan kallade de in Petrus och Johannes igen och befallde dem att aldrig mer tala eller undervisa i namnet Jesus. 19 Men Petrus och Johannes svarade: ”Tänk efter själva, om det är rätt inför Gud att lyda er istället för honom? 20 Nej, vi kan inte låta bli att berätta om allt det som vi har sett och hört.”
21 Då hotade rådet dem än en gång men släppte dem sedan. De visste inte hur de skulle straffa dem för alla hyllade Gud för det som hade skett. 22 Mannen som hade blivit botad genom detta tecken var nämligen över fyrtio år gammal.
De troende ber om frimodighet
23 Så snart Petrus och Johannes blev fria, sökte de upp de sina och berättade allt vad översteprästerna och folkets ledare hade sagt. 24 Och när de andra hörde dem, började alla gemensamt ropa högt till Gud och sa:
”Herre, du som har skapat himlen och jorden och haven och allt som finns i dem![e] 25 Du lät den heliga Anden tala genom vår förfader David, din tjänare:
’Varför gör folken uppror?
Varför smider de meningslösa planer?
26 Jordens kungar reser sig;
makthavarna samlas mot Herren
och mot hans Smorde.’[f]
27 De slog sig verkligen samman i den här staden mot din heliga tjänare Jesus som du har smort. Herodes och Pontius Pilatus, de andra folken och Israels folk, 28 de har gjort vad du i din makt och med din vilja hade förutbestämt. 29 Herre, se nu hur de hotar oss! Så hjälp nu dina tjänare att frimodigt förkunna ditt budskap! 30 Visa din makt och bota de sjuka, låt tecken och under ske genom din heliga tjänare Jesus namn!”
31 När de hade slutat be, skakade platsen där de var samlade och alla fylldes av den heliga Anden och förkunnade Guds budskap frimodigt.
De troende delar allt med varandra
32 Alla de troende var enade till hjärta och själ och ingen tyckte att det han ägde var hans eget utan alla delade med sig av vad de hade. 33 Apostlarna vittnade med stor kraft om att Herren Jesus hade uppstått från de döda och Gud var mycket nådig mot dem alla. 34 Ingen av dem saknade något. Alla som ägde mark eller hus sålde det och kom med vad de fått 35 och lämnade pengarna framför apostlarna. De delades sedan ut åt var och en allt efter deras behov.
36 Josef, en levit från Cypern som apostlarna kallade Barnabas, ”Tröstens son”, 37 sålde också en åker som han ägde och lämnade pengarna framför apostlarna.

Arresto de Pedro y Juan
4 Mientras ellos hablaban al pueblo, se les echaron encima(A) los sacerdotes, el capitán de la guardia del templo(B), y los saduceos(C), 2 indignados porque enseñaban al pueblo, y anunciaban en[a] Jesús la resurrección de entre los muertos(D). 3 Les echaron mano, y los pusieron en la cárcel(E) hasta el día siguiente, pues ya era tarde. 4 Pero muchos de los que habían oído el mensaje[b] creyeron, llegando el número de los hombres como a cinco mil(F).

Amenazados y puestos en libertad
13 Al ver la confianza(R) de Pedro y de Juan(S), y dándose cuenta de que eran hombres sin letras y sin preparación(T), se maravillaban, y reconocían que ellos habían estado con Jesús. 14 Y viendo junto a ellos de pie al hombre que había sido sanado, no tenían nada que decir en contra. 15 Pero habiéndoles ordenado salir fuera del concilio[j](U), deliberaban entre sí, 16 diciendo: ¿Qué haremos(V) con estos hombres? Porque el hecho de que un milagro[k] notable ha sido realizado por medio de ellos(W) es evidente a todos los que viven en Jerusalén, y no podemos negarlo. 17 Mas a fin de que no se divulgue más entre el pueblo, amenacémoslos para que no hablen más a hombre alguno en este nombre(X). 18 Cuando los llamaron, les ordenaron no hablar ni enseñar en el nombre de Jesús(Y). 19 Mas respondiendo Pedro y Juan(Z), les dijeron: Vosotros mismos juzgad si es justo delante de Dios obedecer a vosotros antes que a Dios(AA); 20 porque nosotros no podemos dejar de decir(AB) lo que hemos visto y oído. 21 Y ellos, después de amenazarlos otra vez, los dejaron ir (no hallando la manera de castigarlos) por causa del pueblo(AC), porque todos glorificaban a Dios(AD) por lo que había acontecido; 22 porque el hombre en quien se había realizado este milagro[l] de sanidad tenía más de cuarenta años.
Oración de la iglesia
23 Cuando quedaron en libertad, fueron a los suyos y les contaron todo lo que los principales sacerdotes y los ancianos les habían dicho. 24 Al oír ellos esto, unánimes alzaron la voz a Dios y dijeron: Oh, Señor[m], tú eres el que hiciste el cielo y la tierra, el mar y todo lo que en ellos hay(AE), 25 el que por el Espíritu Santo, por boca de nuestro padre David(AF), tu siervo, dijiste:
¿(AG)Por que se enfurecieron los gentiles[n],
y los pueblos tramaron cosas vanas?
26 Se presentaron los reyes de la tierra,
y los gobernantes se juntaron a una

27 Porque en verdad, en esta ciudad se unieron tanto Herodes(AI) como Poncio Pilato(AJ), juntamente con los gentiles[p](AK) y los pueblos de Israel, contra tu santo siervo[q] Jesús(AL), a quien tú ungiste, 28 para hacer cuanto tu mano y tu propósito habían predestinado que sucediera(AM). 29 Y ahora[r], Señor, considera sus amenazas, y permite que tus siervos hablen tu palabra con toda confianza(AN), 30 mientras extiendes tu mano para que se hagan curaciones, señales[s] y prodigios(AO) mediante el nombre de tu santo siervo[t] Jesús(AP). 31 Después que oraron, el lugar donde estaban reunidos(AQ) tembló, y todos fueron llenos del Espíritu Santo(AR) y hablaban la palabra de Dios con valor(AS).
Todas las cosas en común
32 La congregación[u] de los que creyeron era de un corazón y un alma; y ninguno decía ser suyo lo que poseía, sino que todas las cosas eran de propiedad común(AT). 33 Con gran poder los apóstoles daban testimonio(AU) de la resurrección del Señor Jesús[v](AV), y abundante gracia había sobre todos ellos. 34 No había, pues, ningún necesitado entre ellos, porque todos los que poseían tierras o casas(AW) las vendían, traían el precio de lo vendido, 35 y lo depositaban a los pies de los apóstoles(AX), y se distribuía a cada uno según su necesidad(AY).

Peter and John Before the Sanhedrin
4 The priests and the captain of the temple guard(A) and the Sadducees(B) came up to Peter and John while they were speaking to the people. 2 They were greatly disturbed because the apostles were teaching the people, proclaiming in Jesus the resurrection of the dead.(C) 3 They seized Peter and John and, because it was evening, they put them in jail(D) until the next day. 4 But many who heard the message believed; so the number of men who believed grew(E) to about five thousand.
5 The next day the rulers,(F) the elders and the teachers of the law met in Jerusalem. 6 Annas the high priest was there, and so were Caiaphas,(G) John, Alexander and others of the high priest’s family. 7 They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them: “By what power or what name did you do this?”
8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit,(H) said to them: “Rulers and elders of the people!(I) 9 If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a man who was lame(J) and are being asked how he was healed, 10 then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth,(K) whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead,(L) that this man stands before you healed. 11 Jesus is
12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”(N)
13 When they saw the courage of Peter and John(O) and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men,(P) they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.(Q) 14 But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them, there was nothing they could say. 15 So they ordered them to withdraw from the Sanhedrin(R) and then conferred together. 16 “What are we going to do with these men?”(S) they asked. “Everyone living in Jerusalem knows they have performed a notable sign,(T) and we cannot deny it. 17 But to stop this thing from spreading any further among the people, we must warn them to speak no longer to anyone in this name.”
18 Then they called them in again and commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.(U) 19 But Peter and John replied, “Which is right in God’s eyes: to listen to you, or to him?(V) You be the judges! 20 As for us, we cannot help speaking(W) about what we have seen and heard.”(X)
21 After further threats they let them go. They could not decide how to punish them, because all the people(Y) were praising God(Z) for what had happened. 22 For the man who was miraculously healed was over forty years old.
The Believers Pray
23 On their release, Peter and John went back to their own people and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them. 24 When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God.(AA) “Sovereign Lord,” they said, “you made the heavens and the earth and the sea, and everything in them.(AB) 25 You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of your servant, our father David:(AC)
“‘Why do the nations rage
and the peoples plot in vain?
26 The kings of the earth rise up
and the rulers band together
against the Lord
and against his anointed one.[b]’[c](AD)
27 Indeed Herod(AE) and Pontius Pilate(AF) met together with the Gentiles and the people of Israel in this city to conspire against your holy servant Jesus,(AG) whom you anointed. 28 They did what your power and will had decided beforehand should happen.(AH) 29 Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.(AI) 30 Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders(AJ) through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”(AK)
31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken.(AL) And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit(AM) and spoke the word of God(AN) boldly.(AO)
The Believers Share Their Possessions
32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.(AP) 33 With great power the apostles continued to testify(AQ) to the resurrection(AR) of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace(AS) was so powerfully at work in them all 34 that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them,(AT) brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles’ feet,(AU) and it was distributed to anyone who had need.(AV)
36 Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas(AW) (which means “son of encouragement”), 37 sold a field he owned and brought the money and put it at the apostles’ feet.(AX)
