25 Se disponían ya a salir, sin haberse puesto de acuerdo entre ellos mismos, cuando Pablo les dirigió estas palabras:

— Con razón dijo el Espíritu Santo a sus antepasados por medio del profeta Isaías:

26 Ve a decir a este pueblo:
“Escucharán, pero no entenderán;
mirarán, pero no verán”.
27 Porque el corazón de este pueblo
está embotado.
Son duros de oído
y tienen cerrados los ojos
para no ver, ni oír, ni entender,
ni convertirse a mí para que yo los cure.

25 They disagreed among themselves and began to leave after Paul had made this final statement: “The Holy Spirit spoke the truth to your ancestors when he said(A) through Isaiah the prophet:

26 “‘Go to this people and say,
“You will be ever hearing but never understanding;
    you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.”
27 For this people’s heart has become calloused;(B)
    they hardly hear with their ears,
    and they have closed their eyes.
Otherwise they might see with their eyes,
    hear with their ears,
    understand with their hearts
and turn, and I would heal them.’[a](C)
