Pablo y Silas en la cárcel

16 Cierto día, cuando íbamos al lugar de oración, nos encontramos con una joven esclava que tenía un espíritu que le permitía adivinar el futuro. Por medio de la adivinación, ganaba mucho dinero para sus amos. 17 Ella seguía a Pablo y también al resto de nosotros, gritando: «Estos hombres son siervos del Dios Altísimo y han venido para decirles cómo ser salvos».

18 Esto mismo sucedió día tras día hasta que Pablo se exasperó de tal manera que se dio la vuelta y le dijo al demonio que estaba dentro de la joven: «Te ordeno, en el nombre de Jesucristo, que salgas de ella». Y al instante el demonio la dejó.

Paul and Silas in Prison

16 Once when we were going to the place of prayer,(A) we were met by a female slave who had a spirit(B) by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling. 17 She followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God,(C) who are telling you the way to be saved.” 18 She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so annoyed that he turned around and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” At that moment the spirit left her.(D)

16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.

18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
