27 Los ciudadanos de Jerusalén y sus gobernantes no reconocieron a Jesús y lo condenaron, cumpliendo así los anuncios de los profetas, que todos los sábados se leen en la sinagoga. 28 Y sin hallar en él causa alguna de muerte, lo entregaron a Pilato para que mandara ajusticiarlo. 29 Y cuando llevaron a cabo todo lo que estaba escrito sobre él, lo bajaron del madero y lo depositaron en un sepulcro.

27 Pues los que vivían en Jerusalén, y sus jefes, no reconocieron a Jesús ni entendieron las palabras de los profetas que se leen en la sinagoga cada sábado; así ellos mismos, cuando condenaron a Jesús, cumplieron esas profecías. 28 Y aunque no encontraron en él ningún motivo para darle muerte, pidieron a Pilato que mandara matarlo. 29 Luego, cuando ya habían hecho todo lo que se decía de él en las Escrituras, lo bajaron de la cruz y lo enterraron.

27 The people of Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize Jesus,(A) yet in condemning him they fulfilled the words of the prophets(B) that are read every Sabbath. 28 Though they found no proper ground for a death sentence, they asked Pilate to have him executed.(C) 29 When they had carried out all that was written about him,(D) they took him down from the cross(E) and laid him in a tomb.(F)
