⁴ having the golden ^(A)altar of incense and ^(B)the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which was ^(C)a golden urn holding the manna, and ^(D)Aaron's staff that budded, and ^(E)the tablets of the covenant.

¹⁰ And the Lord said to Moses, “Put back ^(A)the staff of Aaron before the testimony, to be kept ^(B)as a sign for the rebels, ^(C)that you may make an end of their grumblings against me, lest they die.”

¹⁰ There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets ^(A)that Moses put there at Horeb, where the Lord made a covenant with the people of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.

⁵ And the staff of the man ^(A)whom I choose shall sprout. Thus I will make to cease from me ^(B)the grumblings of the people of Israel, which they grumble against you.”

¹² And he shall take ^(A)a censer full of coals of fire from the altar before the Lord, and two handfuls of sweet incense beaten small, and he shall bring it inside the veil

³ And you shall put in it the ark of the testimony, and you shall ^(A)screen the ark with the veil.

³³ And you shall hang ^(A)the veil from the clasps, and bring ^(B)the ark of the testimony in there within the veil. And the veil shall separate for you the Holy Place from the Most Holy.

²⁰ He ^(A)took the testimony and put it into the ark, and put the poles on the ark and set the mercy seat above on the ark. ²¹ And he brought the ark into the tabernacle and ^(B)set up the veil of the screen, and screened ^(C)the ark of the testimony, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

The Shining Face of Moses

²⁹ When Moses came down from Mount Sinai, with ^(A)the two tablets of the testimony in his hand as he came down from the mountain, Moses did not know that the skin of his face ^(B)shone because he had been talking with God.^[a]

³² Moses said, “This is what the Lord has commanded: ‘Let an omer of it be kept throughout your generations, so that they may see the bread with which I fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you out of the land of Egypt.’” ³³ And Moses said to Aaron, “Take a ^(A)jar, and put an omer of manna in it, and place it before the Lord to be kept throughout your generations.” ³⁴ As the Lord commanded Moses, so Aaron placed it before ^(B)the testimony to be kept.
