²⁷ He doesn’t need to offer sacrifices every day like the other high priests, first for their own sins and then for the sins of the people. He did this once for all when he offered himself.

²⁶ If that were so, then Jesus would have to suffer many times since the foundation of the world. Instead, he has now appeared once at the end of the ages to get rid of sin by sacrificing himself.

²⁸ In the same way, Christ was also offered once to take on himself the sins of many people. He will appear a second time, not to take away sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.

¹⁰ We have been made holy by God’s will through the offering of Jesus Christ’s body once for all.

¹² But when this priest offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, he sat down at the right side of God.

¹⁴ because he perfected the people who are being made holy with one offering for all time.
