Hebrews 6
English Standard Version

6 Therefore (A)let us leave (B)the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance (C)from dead works and of faith toward God, 2 and of (D)instruction about washings,[a] (E)the laying on of hands, (F)the resurrection of the dead, and (G)eternal judgment. 3 And this we will do (H)if God permits. 4 For it is impossible, in the case of those (I)who have once been enlightened, who have tasted (J)the heavenly gift, and (K)have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 and (L)have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6 and (M)then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since (N)they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt. 7 For (O)land that has drunk the rain that often falls on it, and produces a crop useful to those for whose sake it is cultivated, receives a blessing from God. 8 But (P)if it bears thorns and thistles, it is worthless and near to being cursed, (Q)and its end is to be burned.

9 Though we speak in this way, yet in your case, beloved, we feel sure of better things—things that belong to salvation. 10 For (R)God is not unjust so as to overlook (S)your work and the love that you have shown for his name in (T)serving the saints, as you still do. 11 And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance (U)of hope until the end, 12 so that you may not be sluggish, but (V)imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

The Certainty of God's Promise

13 For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater by whom to swear, (W)he swore by himself, 14 saying, (X)“Surely I will bless you and multiply you.” 15 And thus Abraham,[b] (Y)having patiently waited, obtained the promise. 16 For people swear by something greater than themselves, and in all their disputes (Z)an oath is final for confirmation. 17 So when God desired to show more convincingly to (AA)the heirs of the promise (AB)the unchangeable character of his purpose, (AC)he guaranteed it with an oath, 18 so that by two unchangeable things, in which (AD)it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope (AE)set before us. 19 We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into (AF)the inner place behind the curtain, 20 where Jesus has gone (AG)as a forerunner on our behalf, (AH)having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

The Danger of Falling Away

6 Therefore (A)leaving (B)the [a]elementary teaching about the [b]Christ, let us press on to [c](C)maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from (D)dead works and of faith toward God, 2 of (E)instruction about [d]washings and (F)laying on of hands, and about the (G)resurrection of the dead and (H)eternal judgment. 3 And this we will do, (I)if God permits. 4 For it is (J)impossible, in the case of those who have once been (K)enlightened and have tasted of (L)the heavenly gift and have been made (M)partakers of the Holy Spirit, 5 and (N)have tasted the good (O)word of God and the powers of (P)the age to come, 6 and then have [e]fallen away, to (Q)restore them again to repentance, [f](R)since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. 7 For ground that drinks the rain which often [g]falls on it and produces vegetation useful to those (S)for whose sake it is also tilled, receives a blessing from God; 8 but if it yields thorns and thistles, it is worthless and [h](T)close to being cursed, and [i]it ends up being burned.

Better Things for You

9 But, (U)beloved, we are convinced of better things regarding you, and things that [j]accompany salvation, even though we are speaking in this way. 10 For (V)God is not unjust so as to forget (W)your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, by having (X)served and by still serving the [k]saints. 11 And we desire that each one of you demonstrate the same diligence [l]so as to realize the (Y)full assurance of (Z)hope until the end, 12 so that you will not be sluggish, but (AA)imitators of those who through (AB)faith and endurance (AC)inherit the promises.

13 For (AD)when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear an oath by no one greater, He (AE)swore by Himself, 14 saying, “(AF)indeed I will greatly bless you and I will greatly multiply you.” 15 And so, (AG)having patiently waited, he obtained the promise. 16 (AH)For people swear an oath by [m]one greater than themselves, and with them (AI)an oath serving as confirmation is an end of every dispute. 17 [n]In the same way God, desiring even more to demonstrate to (AJ)the heirs of the promise [o](AK)the fact that His purpose is unchangeable, [p]confirmed it with an oath, 18 so that by two unchangeable things in which (AL)it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to hold firmly to (AM)the hope set before us. 19 [q]This (AN)hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and reliable and one which (AO)enters [r]within the veil, 20 (AP)where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a (AQ)high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

6 所以，我们应当离开基督道理的基础，竭力进到成熟的地步；不必再立根基，就如懊悔致死的行为、信靠　神、 2 各样洗礼、按手礼、死人复活，以及永远的审判等的教导。 3 　神若准许，我们就这样做。 4-6 论到那些已经蒙了光照、尝过天恩的滋味、又于圣灵有份、并尝过　神的话的美味，和来世权能的人，若再离弃真道，就不可能使他们重新懊悔了；因为他们亲自把　神的儿子重钉十字架，公然羞辱他。 7 就如一块田地吸收过屡次下的雨水，生长蔬菜，合乎耕种的人用，就从　神得福。 8 这块田地若长荆棘和蒺藜，必被废弃，近于诅咒，结局就是焚烧。

9 亲爱的，虽然这样说，我们仍深信你们有更好的情况，更接近救恩。 10 因为　神并非不公义，竟忘记你们的工作和你们为他的名所显的爱心，就是你们过去和现在伺候圣徒的爱心。 11 我们盼望你们各人都显出同样的热忱，一直到底，好达成所确信的指望。 12 这样你们才不会懒惰，却成为效法那些藉着信和忍耐承受应许的人。

　神确切的应许

13 当初　神应许亚伯拉罕的时候，因为没有比自己更大的可以指着起誓，就指着自己起誓， 14 说：“我必多多赐福给你；我必使你大大增多。” 15 这样，亚伯拉罕因恒心等待而得了所应许的。 16 人都是指着比自己大的起誓，并且以起誓作保证，了结各样的争论。 17 照样，　神愿意为那承受应许的人更有力地显明他的旨意不可更改，他以起誓作保证。 18 藉这两件不可更改的事—在这些事上，　神绝不会说谎—我们这些逃往避难所的人能得到强有力的鼓励，去抓住那摆在我们前头的指望。 19 我们有这指望，如同灵魂的锚，又坚固又牢靠，进入幔子后面的至圣所。 20 为我们作先锋的耶稣，既照着麦基洗德的体系成了永远的大祭司，已经进入了。

6 1-2 所以，我们应当离开基督初步的道理，努力进到成熟的地步，不必在懊悔致死的行为，信靠　神，洗礼，按手礼，死人复活，和永远审判的教训上再立根基。 3 只要　神允许，我们就这样作。 4 因为那些曾经蒙了光照，尝过属天的恩赐的滋味，与圣灵有分， 5 并且尝过　神美善的道和来世的权能的人， 6 如果偏离了正道，就不可能再使他们重新悔改了。因为他们亲自把　神的儿子再钉在十字架上，公然羞辱他。 7 这就像一块地，吸收了常常下在它上面的雨水，如果长出对种植的人有用的菜蔬，就从　神那里得福。 8 但如果这块地长出荆棘和蒺藜来，就被废弃，近于咒诅，结局就是焚烧。

9 不过，亲爱的弟兄们，我们虽然这样说，但对于你们，我们却深信你们有更好的表现，结局就是得救。 10 因为　神并不是不公义，以致忘记了你们的工作，和你们为他的名所表现的爱心，就是你们以前服事圣徒，现在还是服事他们。 11 我们深愿你们各人都表现同样的热诚，一直到底，使你们的盼望可以完全实现， 12 并且不要懒惰，却要效法那些凭着信心和忍耐承受应许的人。

　神起誓保证他的应许

13 　神应许亚伯拉罕的时候，因为没有比自己更大的可以指着起誓，他就指着自己起誓， 14 说：“我必定赐福给你，必定使你的后裔繁多。” 15 这样，亚伯拉罕耐心等待，终于获得了所应许的。 16 因为人起誓都是指着比自己大的起誓。这誓言就了结了他们中间的一切纠纷，作为保证。 17 照样，　神定意向那些承受应许的人，更清楚地表明他的旨意是不更改的，就用起誓作保证。 18 这两件事是不能更改的，因为　神是决不说谎的。因此，我们这些逃进避难所的人，就大得安慰，抓紧那摆在我们面前的盼望。 19 我们有这盼望，就像灵魂的锚，又稳当又坚固，通过幔子直进到里面。 20 耶稣已经为我们作先锋进入了幔子里面；他是照着麦基洗德的体系，成了永远的大祭司。
