Hebrews 5:4-10
Legacy Standard Bible
4 And (A)no one takes this honor to himself, but receives it when he is called by God, even (B)as Aaron was.
5 In this way also Christ (C)did not glorify Himself to become a (D)high priest, but He who (E)said to Him,
“(F)You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You”;
6 just as He says also in another passage,
7 He, [a]in the days of His flesh, [b](I)offered up both prayers and supplications with (J)loud crying and tears to the One (K)able to save Him [c]from death, and He [d]was heard because of His (L)reverence. 8 Although He was (M)a Son, He learned (N)obedience from the things which He suffered. 9 And having been made (O)perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation, 10 being designated by God as (P)a high priest according to (Q)the order of Melchizedek.

Evangelical Heritage Version
4 No one takes this honor on himself, but he is called by God, just as Aaron was. 5 In the same way, Christ did not take the glory of becoming a high priest on himself, but God said to him:
You are my Son.
Today I have begotten you.[a]
6 He also said the same thing in another place:
You are a priest forever, like Melchizedek.[b]
7 In the days of his flesh,[c] he offered prayers and pleas with loud cries and tears to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence. 8 Although he was the Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered. 9 After he was brought to his goal, he became the source of eternal salvation for everyone who obeys him, 10 because he was designated by God as a high priest, like Melchizedek.
