Hebrews 3:7-4:3

⁷ Therefore, just as ^(A)the Holy Spirit says,

The Peril of Unbelief

^12 (H)Take care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart ^[b]that falls away from ^(I)the living God. ¹³ But ^(J)encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called “Today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the ^(K)deceitfulness of sin. ¹⁴ For we have become partakers of Christ, ^(L)if we hold fast the beginning of our ^(M)assurance firm until the end, ¹⁵ while it is said,

¹⁶ For who ^(O)provoked Him when they had heard? Indeed, ^(P)did not all those who came out of Egypt led by Moses? ¹⁷ And with whom was He angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, ^(Q)whose bodies fell in the wilderness? ¹⁸ And to whom did He swear ^(R)that they would not enter His rest, but to those who were ^(S)disobedient? ¹⁹ So we see that they were not able to enter because of ^(T)unbelief.

The Believer’s Rest

4 Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have ^(U)come short of it. ² For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but ^(V)the word ^[d]they heard did not profit them, because ^[e]it was not united by faith in those who heard. ³ For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said,

although His works were finished ^(X)from the foundation of the world.
