Advertencia contra la incredulidad
7 Por eso, como dice el Espíritu Santo:
«Si ustedes oyen hoy su voz,
8 no endurezcan sus corazones[a]
como sucedió en la rebelión,
en aquel día de prueba en el desierto.
9 Allí sus antepasados me tentaron y me pusieron a prueba,
a pesar de haber visto mis obras cuarenta años.
10 Por eso me enojé con aquella generación
y dije: “Siempre se alejan de mí[b]
y no reconocen mis caminos”.
11 Así que, en mi enojo, hice este juramento:
“Jamás entrarán en mi reposo”».[c]
12 Cuídense, hermanos, de que ninguno de ustedes tenga un corazón pecaminoso e incrédulo que los haga apartarse del Dios vivo. 13 Más bien, mientras dure ese «hoy», anímense unos a otros cada día, para que ninguno de ustedes se endurezca por el engaño del pecado. 14 Hemos llegado a tener parte con Cristo, si en verdad mantenemos firme hasta el fin la confianza que tuvimos al principio. 15 Como se acaba de decir:
«Si ustedes oyen hoy su voz,
no endurezcan sus corazones
como sucedió en la rebelión».[d]
16 Ahora bien, ¿quiénes fueron los que oyeron y se rebelaron? ¿No fueron acaso todos los que salieron de Egipto guiados por Moisés? 17 ¿Y con quiénes se enojó Dios durante cuarenta años? ¿No fue acaso con los que pecaron, los cuales cayeron muertos en el desierto? 18 ¿Y a quiénes juró Dios que jamás entrarían en su reposo, sino a los que desobedecieron?[e] 19 Como podemos ver, no pudieron entrar por causa de su incredulidad.

Warning Against Unbelief
7 So, as the Holy Spirit says:(A)
“Today, if you hear his voice,
8 do not harden your hearts(B)
as you did in the rebellion,
during the time of testing in the wilderness,
9 where your ancestors tested and tried me,
though for forty years they saw what I did.(C)
10 That is why I was angry with that generation;
I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray,
and they have not known my ways.’
11 So I declared on oath in my anger,(D)
‘They shall never enter my rest.’ (E)”[a](F)
12 See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.(G) 13 But encourage one another daily,(H) as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.(I) 14 We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold(J) our original conviction firmly to the very end.(K) 15 As has just been said:
16 Who were they who heard and rebelled? Were they not all those Moses led out of Egypt?(M) 17 And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies perished in the wilderness?(N) 18 And to whom did God swear that they would never enter his rest(O) if not to those who disobeyed?(P) 19 So we see that they were not able to enter, because of their unbelief.(Q)
