The Danger of Unbelief

^12 (A)Take care, brothers and sisters, that there will not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart ^[a]that falls away from ^(B)the living God. ¹³ But ^(C)encourage one another every day, as long as it is still called “today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the ^(D)deceitfulness of sin. ¹⁴ For we have become partakers of Christ ^(E)if we keep the beginning of our ^[b](F)commitment firm until the end,

¹² For ^(A)the word of God is ^(B)living and ^(C)active, and sharper than any two-edged ^(D)sword, even penetrating as far as the division of ^(E)soul and ^(F)spirit, of both joints and marrow, and ^(G)able to ^[a]judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. ¹³ And ^(H)there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are ^(I)open and laid bare to the eyes of Him to whom ^[b]we must answer.

¹⁴ Therefore, since we have a great ^(J)high priest who has ^(K)passed through the heavens, Jesus ^(L)the Son of God, let’s hold firmly to our ^(M)confession.

⁶ just as He also says in another passage,

⁷ In the days of ^[a]His humanity, ^[b](C)He offered up both prayers and pleas with ^(D)loud crying and tears to the One ^(E)able to save Him ^[c]from death, and He ^[d]was heard because of His ^(F)devout behavior. ⁸ Although He was ^(G)a Son, He learned ^(H)obedience from the things which He suffered. ⁹ And having been ^(I)perfected, He became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey Him, ¹⁰ being designated by God as ^(J)High Priest according to ^(K)the order of Melchizedek.

¹⁴ But solid food is for ^(A)the mature, who because of practice have their senses ^(B)trained to ^(C)distinguish between good and evil.
