putting everything in subjection under his feet.”

Now in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control. At present, (A)we do not yet see everything in subjection to him. But we see him (B)who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, (C)crowned with glory and honor (D)because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God he might (E)taste death (F)for everyone.

10 For it (G)was fitting that he, (H)for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons (I)to glory, should make the (J)founder of their salvation (K)perfect through suffering. 11 For (L)he who sanctifies and (M)those who are sanctified (N)all have one source.[a] That is why he is not ashamed to call them (O)brothers,[b] 12 saying,

(P)“I will tell of your name to my brothers;
    in the midst of the (Q)congregation I will sing your praise.”

13 And again,

(R)“I will put my trust in him.”

And again,

(S)“Behold, I and the children (T)God has given me.”

  1. Hebrews 2:11 Greek all are of one
  2. Hebrews 2:11 Or brothers and sisters. In New Testament usage, depending on the context, the plural Greek word adelphoi (translated “brothers”) may refer either to brothers or to brothers and sisters; also verse 12

    you subjected all things under his feet.[a]

For in subjecting all things,[b] he left nothing that was not subject to him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him, but we see Jesus, for a short time made lower than the angels, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, so that apart from God[c] he might taste death on behalf of everyone. 10 For it was fitting for him for whom are all things and through whom are all things in bringing many sons to glory to perfect the originator of their salvation through sufferings. 11 For both the one who sanctifies and the ones who are sanctified are all from one, for which reason he is not ashamed to call them brothers, 12 saying,

“I will proclaim your name to my brothers;
in the midst of the assembly I will sing in praise of you.”[d]

13 And again,

“I will trust in him.”[e]

And again,

“Behold, I and the children God has given me.”[f]
