Hebrews 2:14-18
English Standard Version
14 Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise (A)partook of the same things, that (B)through death he might (C)destroy (D)the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and deliver all those who (E)through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery. 16 For surely it is not angels that he helps, but he (F)helps the offspring of Abraham. 17 Therefore he had (G)to be made like his brothers in every respect, (H)so that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest (I)in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. 18 For because he himself has suffered (J)when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.

Hebrews 2:14-18
Holman Christian Standard Bible
14 Now since the children have flesh and blood in common, Jesus also shared in these, so that through His death He might destroy the one holding the power of death—that is, the Devil(A)— 15 and free those who were held in slavery all their lives by the fear of death.(B) 16 For it is clear that He does not reach out to help angels, but to help Abraham’s offspring. 17 Therefore, He had to be like His brothers in every way, so that He could become a merciful and faithful high priest in service[a] to God, to make propitiation(C) for the sins of the people.(D) 18 For since He Himself was tested and has suffered, He is able to help those who are tested.
