¹⁴ For here ^(A)we do not have a lasting city, but we are seeking ^(B)the city which is to come.

²⁴ It will also come to pass that before they call, I will ^(J)answer; while they are still speaking, I will listen. ²⁵ The ^(K)wolf and the lamb will graze together, and the ^(L)lion will eat straw like the ox; and ^(M)dust will be the serpent’s food. They will ^(N)do no evil or harm on all My ^(O)holy mountain,” says the Lord.

Satan Freed and Doomed

⁷ When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be ^(A)released from his prison, ⁸ and will come out to ^(B)deceive the nations which are at the ^(C)four corners of the earth, ^(D)Gog and Magog, to ^(E)gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the ^(F)sand of the ^[a]seashore. ⁹ And they ^(G)came up on the ^[b]broad plain of the earth and surrounded the ^(H)camp of the ^[c]saints and the ^(I)beloved city, and ^(J)fire came down from heaven and devoured them. ¹⁰ And ^(K)the devil who ^(L)deceived them was thrown into the ^(M)lake of fire and ^[d]brimstone, where the ^(N)beast and the ^(O)false prophet are also; and they will be ^(P)tormented day and night forever and ever.

The New Heaven and Earth

21 Then I saw ^(A)a new heaven and a new earth; for ^(B)the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea.

² And I saw ^(A)the holy city, ^(B)new Jerusalem, ^(C)coming down out of heaven from God, ^(D)prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. ³ And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, ^(E)the tabernacle of God is among the people, and He will ^(F)dwell among them, and they shall be His ^[a]people, and God Himself will be among them^[b],

⁴ and He will ^(A)wipe away every tear from their eyes; and ^(B)there will no longer be any death; ^(C)there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; ^(D)the first things have passed away.”

⁵ And ^(E)He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am ^(F)making all things new.” And He *said, “Write, for ^(G)these words are faithful and true.”

⁶ Then He said to me, “^[a](A)It is done. I am the ^(B)Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. ^(C)I will give water to the one who thirsts from the spring of the ^(D)water of life, without cost. ^7 (E)The one who overcomes will inherit these things, and ^(F)I will be his God and he will be My son. ^8 (G)But for the cowardly, and ^[b]unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and sexually immoral persons, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part will be in ^(H)the lake that burns with fire and ^[c]brimstone, which is the ^(I)second death.”

²⁷ and ^(A)nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those ^[a]whose names are ^(B)written in the Lamb’s book of life.
