Hebrews 12:7-13
Legacy Standard Bible
7 It is for discipline that you endure; (A)God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8 But if you are without discipline, (B)of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. 9 Furthermore, we [a]had [b]earthly fathers to discipline us, and we (C)respected them. Shall we not much rather be subject to (D)the Father of [c]spirits, and (E)live? 10 For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our benefit, (F)so that we may share His holiness. 11 And all discipline (G)for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful, but to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the (H)peaceful fruit of righteousness.
12 Therefore, [d](I)strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble, 13 and (J)make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather (K)be healed.

Hebrews 12:7-13
Revised Standard Version
7 It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8 If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. 9 Besides this, we have had earthly fathers to discipline us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live? 10 For they disciplined us for a short time at their pleasure, but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness. 11 For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant; later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

12 Therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, 13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather be healed.
