The Unshaken Kingdom

25 (A)See to it that you do not refuse Him who is (B)speaking. For (C)if those did not escape when they (D)refused him who (E)warned them on earth, [a]much less will we escape who turn away from Him who (F)warns us from heaven. 26 And (G)His voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, “(H)Yet once more I will shake not only the earth, but also the heaven.” 27 This expression, “Yet once more,” denotes (I)the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of created things, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Therefore, since we receive a (J)kingdom which cannot be shaken, let’s [b]show gratitude, by which we may (K)offer to God an acceptable service with reverence and awe; 29 for (L)our God is a consuming fire.

25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not when they refused him that warned them on earth, much more shall not we escape who turn away from him [a]that warneth from heaven: 26 whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, [b]Yet once more will I make to tremble not the earth only, but also the heaven. 27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that have been made, that those things which are not shaken may remain. 28 Wherefore, receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us have [c]grace, whereby we may offer service well-pleasing to God with [d]reverence and awe: 29 for our God is a consuming fire.
