Hebrews 12:14-17

14 Strive for peace with all men, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. 15 See to it that no one fail to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” spring up and cause trouble, and by it the many become defiled; 16 that no one be immoral or irreligious like Esau, who sold his birthright for a single meal. 17 For you know that afterward, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no chance to repent, though he sought it with tears.

14 Follow after peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no man shall see the Lord: 15 looking carefully [a]lest there be any man that [b]falleth short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby the many be defiled; 16 [c]lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one mess of meat sold his own birthright. 17 For ye know that even when he afterward desired to inherit the blessing, he was [d]rejected; for he found no place for a change of mind in his father, though he sought it diligently with tears.
