Hebrews 11:4-7

⁴By faith ^(A)Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he was ^(B)attested to be righteous, God testifying ^[a]about his ^(C)gifts, and through ^[b]faith, though ^(D)he is dead, he still speaks. ⁵By faith ^(E)Enoch was taken up so that he would not ^(F)see death; and he was not found because God took him up; for before he was taken up, he was attested to have been pleasing to God. ⁶And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for the one who ^(G)comes to God must believe that He exists, and that He proves to be One who rewards those who seek Him. ⁷By faith ^(H)Noah, being ^(I)warned by God about ^(J)things not yet seen, ^[c]^(K)in reverence ^(L)prepared an ark for the salvation of his household, by which he condemned the world, and became an heir of ^(M)the righteousness which is according to faith.

Faith at the Dawn of History^(A)

⁴By faith ^(B)Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still ^(C)speaks.

⁵By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, ^(D)“and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God. ⁶But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

⁷By faith ^(E)Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, ^(F)prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of ^(G)the righteousness which is according to faith.
