Hebrews 10:5-10
Modern English Version
5 Therefore, when He came into the world, He said:
“Sacrifices and offerings You did not desire,
but a body You have prepared for Me.
6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin
You have had no pleasure.
7 Then I said, ‘See, I have come to do Your will, O God,’ as it is written of Me
in the volume of the book.”[a]
8 Previously when He said, “You did not desire sacrifices and offerings. You have had no pleasure in burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin,”[b] which are offered in accordance with the law, 9 then He said, “See, I have come to do Your will, O God.”[c] He takes away the first that He may establish the second. 10 By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Hebrews 10:5-10
Lexham English Bible
5 Therefore, when he[a] came into the world, he said,
“Sacrifice and offering you did not want,
but a body you prepared for me;
6 you did not delight in whole burnt offerings and offerings for sins.
7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come—
in the roll of the book it is written about me—
to do your will, O God.’
8 When he says above,
“Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and offerings for sin
you did not want, nor did you delight in,”[b]
which are offered according to the law, 9 then he has said,
“Behold, I have come to do your will.”[c]
He takes away the first in order to establish the second, 10 by which will we are made holy through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

- Hebrews 10:5 Here “when” is supplied as a component of the temporal participle (“came”)
- Hebrews 10:8 Various phrases from the quotation of Ps 40:6 in Heb 10:5–6 are repeated here
- Hebrews 10:9 A repetition of Ps 40:8 from Heb 10:7; many later manuscripts add “O God,” making the quotation conform to Heb 10:7 more closely
