Бог говорит в Своем Сыне
1 Бог, многократно и многообразно говоривший в прошлом к нашим предкам через пророков, 2 в эти последние дни говорил нам через Своего Сына, Которого Он предназначил быть Владыкою всего и через Которого Он некогда сотворил вселенную. 3 Сын – сияние славы Отца, точное подобие самой сущности Бога. Сын поддерживает существование всей вселенной Своим могущественным словом. Очистив нас от грехов, Он сел по правую руку от Всевышнего[a] на небесах.
Сын Божий выше всех ангелов
4 Он настолько превыше ангелов, насколько имя, которое Он получил, превыше их имен.
5 Кому из ангелов Бог когда-либо говорил:
«Ты Сын Мой,
сегодня Я родил Тебя»?[b]
Или же:
«Я буду Ему Отцом,
и Он будет Мне Сыном»?[c]

они износятся, как одежда,
12 и Ты свернешь их, словно покрывало;
как одежда, они будут сменены на новые.
Но Ты – Тот же,
и годам Твоим нет конца»[i].
13 Кому из ангелов когда-либо было сказано:
«Сядь по правую руку от Меня,
пока Я не повергну врагов Твоих
к ногам Твоим»?[j]
14 Разве ангелы – это не служебные духи, посылаемые на службу тем, кому предстоит получить спасение?

Introducción (1,1-4)
Dios nos ha hablado por medio de su Hijo
1 Dios habló en otro tiempo a nuestros antepasados por medio de los profetas, y lo hizo en distintas ocasiones y de múltiples maneras. 2 Ahora, llegada la etapa final, nos ha hablado por medio del Hijo a quien constituyó heredero de todas las cosas y por quien creó también el universo. 3 El Hijo, que siendo reflejo resplandeciente de la gloria del Padre e imagen perfecta de su ser, sostiene todas las cosas mediante su palabra poderosa y que, después de habernos purificado del pecado, se sentó junto al trono de Dios en las alturas 4 y ha venido a ser un valedor tanto más poderoso que los ángeles, cuanto es más excelente el título que ha recibido en herencia.
I.— JESUCRISTO, SUPERIOR A LOS ÁNGELES (1,5—2,18)
Hijo de Dios
5 En efecto, jamás dijo Dios a ningún ángel:
Tú eres mi Hijo,
yo te he engendrado hoy.
Ni tampoco:
Seré para él un padre,
y él será un hijo para mí.
6 Asimismo, al introducir a su Hijo primogénito en el mundo dice:
Adórenlo todos los ángeles de Dios.
7 Y mientras que de los ángeles dice la Escritura:
Dios hace espíritus a sus ángeles,
y llamas ardientes a sus ministros,
8 del Hijo, en cambio, dice:
Tu trono, oh Dios, permanece para siempre
y gobiernas tu reino con rectitud.
9 Has amado la justicia y odiado la maldad;
por eso Dios, tu Dios, te ha ungido
con óleo de alegría haciéndote sobresalir
más que tus compañeros.
10 Y dice también:
Tú, Señor, pusiste al comienzo
los cimientos de la tierra,
y hechura de tus manos son los cielos.
11 Ellos perecerán; tú, en cambio, permaneces.
Como traje que envejece serán todos;
12 como si de un manto se tratara, los doblarás
y como ropa que se muda cambiarán.
Pero tú eres siempre el mismo
y tus años no tendrán fin.
13 ¿A qué ángel, en fin, dijo alguna vez:
Siéntate junto a mí
hasta que yo ponga a tus enemigos
por estrado de tus pies?

1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in times past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed Heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds,
3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
4 being made so much better than the angels, as He hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
5 For unto which of the angels said God at any time, “Thou art My Son; this day have I begotten Thee”? And again, “I will be to Him a Father, and He shall be to Me a Son”?
6 And again, when He bringeth in the First-Begotten into the world, He saith, “And let all the angels of God worship Him.”
7 And of the angels He saith, “Who maketh His angels spirits and His ministers a flame of fire.”
8 But unto the Son He saith, “Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Thy Kingdom.
9 Thou hast loved righteousness and hated iniquity; therefore God, even Thy God, hath anointed Thee with the oil of gladness above Thy fellows.”
10 And, “Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the works of Thine hands.
11 They shall perish, but Thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment.
12 And as a vesture shalt Thou fold them up, and they shall be changed. But Thou art the same, and Thy years shall not fail.”
13 But to which of the angels said He at any time, “Sit on My right hand until I make Thine enemies Thy footstool”?
14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for those who shall be heirs of salvation?

God’s Final Word: His Son
1 In the past God spoke(A) to our ancestors through the prophets(B) at many times and in various ways,(C) 2 but in these last days(D) he has spoken to us by his Son,(E) whom he appointed heir(F) of all things, and through whom(G) also he made the universe.(H) 3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory(I) and the exact representation of his being,(J) sustaining all things(K) by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins,(L) he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.(M) 4 So he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is superior to theirs.(N)
The Son Superior to Angels
5 For to which of the angels did God ever say,
Or again,
6 And again, when God brings his firstborn(Q) into the world,(R) he says,
7 In speaking of the angels he says,
8 But about the Son he says,
“Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever;(U)
a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.
9 You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions(V)
by anointing you with the oil(W) of joy.”[e](X)
10 He also says,
“In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth,
and the heavens are the work of your hands.(Y)
11 They will perish, but you remain;
they will all wear out like a garment.(Z)
12 You will roll them up like a robe;
like a garment they will be changed.
But you remain the same,(AA)
and your years will never end.”[f](AB)
13 To which of the angels did God ever say,
14 Are not all angels ministering spirits(AF) sent to serve those who will inherit(AG) salvation?(AH)
