Legacy Standard Bible
5 And those indeed of (A)the sons of Levi, who receive the priest’s office, have a commandment [a]in the Law to collect [b]a tenth from the people, that is, from their brothers, although these [c]are descended from Abraham. 6 But the one (B)whose genealogy is not traced from them had (C)collected [d]a tenth from Abraham and [e](D)blessed the one who (E)had the promises. 7 But without any dispute the lesser is blessed by the greater.

New International Version
5 Now the law requires the descendants of Levi who become priests to collect a tenth from the people(A)—that is, from their fellow Israelites—even though they also are descended from Abraham. 6 This man, however, did not trace his descent from Levi, yet he collected a tenth from Abraham and blessed(B) him who had the promises.(C) 7 And without doubt the lesser is blessed by the greater.
