16 (A)But do not forget to do good and to share, for (B)with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
17 (C)Obey those who [a]rule over you, and be submissive, for (D)they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.
Prayer Requested
18 (E)Pray for us; for we are confident that we have (F)a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably. 19 But I especially urge you to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.
Benediction, Final Exhortation, Farewell
20 Now may (G)the God of peace (H)who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, (I)that great Shepherd of the sheep, (J)through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 make you [b]complete in every good work to do His will, (K)working in [c]you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
22 And I appeal to you, brethren, bear with the word of exhortation, for I have written to you in few words. 23 Know that our brother Timothy has been set free, with whom I shall see you if he comes shortly.
24 Greet all those who [d]rule over you, and all the saints. Those from Italy greet you.
25 Grace be with you all. Amen.

17 Have confidence in your leaders(C) and submit to their authority, because they keep watch over you(D) as those who must give an account. Do this so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no benefit to you.
18 Pray for us.(E) We are sure that we have a clear conscience(F) and desire to live honorably in every way. 19 I particularly urge you to pray so that I may be restored to you soon.(G)

20 Now may the God of peace,(H) who through the blood of the eternal covenant(I) brought back from the dead(J) our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep,(K) 21 equip you with everything good for doing his will,(L) and may he work in us(M) what is pleasing to him,(N) through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. 22 Brothers and sisters, I urge you to bear with my word of exhortation, for in fact I have written to you quite briefly.(P)
23 I want you to know that our brother Timothy(Q) has been released. If he arrives soon, I will come with him to see you.
