7 (A)If[a] you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what (B)son is there whom a father does not chasten? 8 But if you are without chastening, (C)of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.

7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children.(A) For what children are not disciplined by their father? 8 If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline(B)—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all.
