Hebrews 12:27-29

Good News Translation

²⁷The words “once more” plainly show that the created things will be shaken and removed, so that the things that cannot be shaken will remain.

²⁸Let us be thankful, then, because we receive a kingdom that cannot be shaken. Let us be grateful and worship God in a way that will please him, with reverence and awe; ²⁹^(A)because our God is indeed a destroying fire.

²⁷The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken^(A)—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.

²⁸Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken,^(B) let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,^(C) ²⁹for our “God is a consuming fire.”^[a]^(D)
