26 His voice then shook the earth; but now he has promised, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heaven.” 27 This phrase, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of what is shaken, as of what has been made, in order that what cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe; 29 for our God is a consuming fire.

26 At that time his voice shook the earth,(A) but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”[a](B) 27 The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken(C)—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.
28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken,(D) let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,(E) 29 for our “God is a consuming fire.”[b](F)
