²⁵See that you don’t reject the One speaking! For if those did not escape who rejected him when he gave divine warning on earth, think how much less we will escape if we turn away from him when he warns from heaven. ²⁶Even then, his voice shook the earth; but now, he has made this promise:

“One more time I will shake
not only the earth, but heaven too!”^[a]

²⁷And this phrase, “one more time,” makes clear that the things shaken are removed, since they are created things, so that the things not shaken may remain.

²⁵See to it that you do not refuse^(A) him who speaks.^(B) If they did not escape when they refused him who warned^(C) them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven?^(D) ²⁶At that time his voice shook the earth,^(E) but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”^[a]^(F) ²⁷The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken^(G)—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.
