By faith (A)Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God. And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God (B)must believe that he exists and (C)that he rewards those who seek him. By faith (D)Noah, being warned by God concerning (E)events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of (F)the righteousness that comes by faith.

By faith (G)Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place (H)that he was to receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going.

By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: “He could not be found, because God had taken him away.”[a](A) For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him(B) must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen,(C) in holy fear built an ark(D) to save his family.(E) By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith.(F)

By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance,(G) obeyed and went,(H) even though he did not know where he was going.
